Do you have problems with the HentaiVerse? Any doubts about how to play the game? Or are you just looking for general information?

First of all, please don't start a new thread for every thing that comes to your mind. It clutters up the forum and there's the chance your question was already answered somewhere else. There are plenty of places where you can find help, or (if needed) ask questions. Please read this topic before posting.

If the HentaiVerse seems to be broken, it's probably a site-wide problem, in that case everyone would be affected by it, and it's probably already been reported by someone, so don't panic and post everywhere that the site is offline, please. Look for the most recent posts in this subforum and, if there's nothing here, try to check the Techical Issues page. You might also want to check for the most recent updates from the admin on the [twitter.com] Twitter page. If you still can't find anything about your issue, then you're welcome reporting the problem by posting on the forums.

If you're looking for information, these links can help you:
  • The EHWiki. The HentaiVerse category contains a large amount of information, not just about the game itself, but also about related topics such as character stats, equipment and so on. This should definitely be the first place you check before going anywhere else.
Before asking any question, please read the Advice and the FAQ pages - they contain a lot of useful information, especially for novices.

  • Ask the Experts! thread. If you already read the wiki, and you still have questions about something, this is the right place to ask for more accurate information. Keep in mind that if your question is already answered by some ehwiki page, you'll be almost certainly redirected to that resource. Be also aware that no one, no matter how high his level is, necessarily knows the absolute best way to play HentaiVerse, so don't take everything for granted.
Note: you can see here how to get the links of equipments you want to post.
Some other topics that you may find useful:
  • The Official My Little Ponyverse Chat. Here you can say hello to other players and talk about whatever comes to your mind about Hentaiverse: just chatting about funny stuff, odd facts, suspects or strange curiosities of yours, or also making your own HV theories, and a lot of other interesting things. Remember - only information related to HentaiVerse should go here - no random spam or free talk.

  • Script Thread. In this thread you can find information about different scripts for the HentaiVerse, you can ask questions about them and also report eventual bugs. From this thread you can also download the named above scripts. You can also check the Scripts Compendium, where all useful and updated scripts are organized by categories and listed in few comfy pages. If you don't know what scripts are or how to install them, or if you have some sort of problem with making scripts work, you can check the Scripts Guide

  • Price Check - post here about Magnificent and Legendary equipment you got, and ask if they're good enough for sale or auction, and their eventual market value. Usually within few hours you'll be told from one of the experts if your equipments are worth selling or auctioning, or if it's better off salvaging them.

  • Equipment Guide - if you have questions about your equipment and you would like to know how to compare different equipments, or what you should look for next, here you can find a lot of useful information.

  • FreeSHop and other free shops - if you are a novice, check this "shop", here you can find a lot of good equipment for free. If you don't qualify to ask something, there are many other shops who offer free services (restoratives, equips or other items). Every shop has its rules, so READ THE RULES before posting anything.

  • EHWiki Thread - post here about any mistakes you have found in The EHWiki.
Is your English bad? The HentaiVerse wiki is available in other languages.

Also thanks to everyone who helped me creating and pinning this thread (you should already know that you're great (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif)) and thanks to everyone who will have ideas or give suggestions in the future too.

Quick Start guide for beginners:

the purpose of this game is to win quests by defeating monsters. Eventually you'll be awarded credits and/or certain powerups (either equipments or special items) which will help you to improve your stats and finish quests in a quicker and safer way.

Credits can be used to purchase powerups, permanent boosts (being them Trainings or Hath Perks) or to be spent in the galleries system. As for powerups, they can be used for your own build or sold to other users to earn credits. If you don't know how much an item can be worth, it's fine to ask for a price check in Ask the Experts or Price Check threads.

Going bare-handed is not suggested, so the first step is to pick a build. Differently from other games, HV mechanics make so there's a proper range for every build, and that especially at the start there are some which are more suggested than others. Obviously this is a game and you can enjoy it the way you prefer, but due to how the game is built, with the current patch (0.84) a somehow-optimized sequence may be:
  • lv 0~200: 2H + Leather armors
  • lv 0+: DW + Leather/Shade armors
  • lv 200~250: 1H + Leather armors
  • lv 250+: 1H + Power armors
  • lv 310+: Mage + Phase/Cotton armors
The last one is a Mage-type, while all the others are Melee-type. The difference between them is that usually a melee relies on physical attacks, while a mage relies on casting spells and avoiding being hit.
Once you hit the range in which all of them are viable, the difference will basically switch to melees being slower but safer and cheaper and mages being quicker but less safe and more expensive.

Quick Start guide for returning users: as many of you may have noted, HV underwent many changes during the years. You can try to search the HV Release Notes section and HV Wikia for something in particular.
As hints, the most notable changes are (ordered roughly on chronological order):
  • Aura system being removed and fully replaced by trainings, perks and other things
  • Soul damage being removed and rerolled into Holy/Dark (eventually Void for some mobs)
  • the removal of Fine item quality and T2 gears
  • the introduction of Peerless item quality, which is the highest possible one
  • the introduction of the Lottery: you can bid GPs on a daily base for a chance to win either an equip (which is Soulbound), Tokens or other untradeable items
  • equip rolls being revamped with 0.82 patch. While Slaughter weapons weren't basically touched by that, the ranges of all the other ones have been tweaked to be a bit more competitive with said Slaughters
  • the suppression of the old potion system: Average, Superior, Godly potions now don't exist anymore and have been replaced by the brand new Draughts, Potions and Elixirs
  • the introduction of a Catalyst system to forge items. As a sideback, forge costs are lowered for the first 5 levels (earning from salvaging too)
  • the introduction of a Tradeable/Untradeable system:
  • the introduction of a Soulfuse system: when an item drops, its stats are now bound to your level and will remain freezed to those values until you'll trade a certain amount of special components. As a sideback, this gear may now be used only by you
  • the introduction of a Damage system: items now will tend to ruin over time, to the point that their stats may lower and you'll have to use a certain amount of items to repair them

More advanced strategies:

----------------------------

IW optimization:

If no Dard Desc: start with 1 potency per round (i.e. hell or lower if not soulfused, nightmare or lower if soulfused but this depends on PXP of item). If you want to save stamina, go higher diff when first 2 or 3 good potencies have been achieved.

Warning: difficult IW and starting below Hell may give you drop penalty (see wiki)

Jug5:
1st must be Jug
Reforge if Jug =< (badpot1 + badbot2)
Reforge if Jug < badpot1
Reforge if Jug5 isn't possible

Staff: Pen5 + whatever
1st must be Pen
If Pen1 then go 2 pots per round (advice, not requirement)
Pen2 must be in round 3 at latest
Pen3 must be in round 5 at latest
Stop at 9. (hollowforged sucks)

Staff: Pen5 + Spel3 (or even Spel4)
1st must be Pen
If Pen1 then go 2 pots per round (advice, not requirement)
Pen2 must be in round 3 at latest and reforge if any other pot than Pen or Spel shows up
Pen3 must be in round 5 at latest and reforge if any other pot than Pen or Spel shows up
Reforge if Pen < Spel, or if Pen = spell = badpot or if your desired outcome isn't possible anymore.
Stop at 9. (hollowforged sucks)

Weapons: similar to staff, but don't stop at 9, go for hollowforged
