This window is going to give me carpal tunnel!
Yea, I can press spacebar to continue but I think its gonna break my wrist if I continue to do so.
Plus it means taking my hand off of the alt or 1 button (for quickspell).

You can't do anything (like flee) when it is display, the only thing you can do is click continue/spacebar/enter and read what it says. Its only purpose is to tell me I won X money and Y XP, something that could have gone in the combat display (eg: round 0, you won X XP and Y money last round, rolling new monsters).

So, is there is a way to disable this window? cause I have clicked through thousands of those and I am getting somewhat sore.

You can press spacebar or enter/return key to continue to the next round.
Other than this you can use HV Keybinds to change the input to a more convenient key.
Also you can use this thread to ask various questions about how the game works rather than creating multiple threads to ask questions.

As I explicitly said, I already press spacebar to go through it.
I need to know how do I make it not show up / automatically continue without pressing a button!

ALT is like 1.5 centimeters away from the spacebar, how hard can it be for your wrist?

Would it be a rule violation if I write a script that automatically presses the continue button? (I wouldn't think so)

20 stamina is gained per day.

Rounds per stamina:
Arena: 100
Ring of Blood: 100
Grindfest: 50
CrysFest: 200
Item World: 100
Random Encounter: 50

Clicks per day:
Arena: 2000
Ring of Blood: 2000
Grindfest: 1000
CrysFest: 4000
Item World: 2000
Random Encounter: 1000

How hard is it to perform 1000-4000 totally unnecessary clicks EVERY DAY that I play this game? Very VERY hard.

1) This is dumb.
2) I think it would be a rule violation if you automated it.
3) I always assumed it was there to help prevent botters.
4) hold your hand so that it's in parallel with the keyboard. That way all your important keys are easily within reach.
5) You're complaining about number of "clicks" in a "click" game.
6) You've been playing for 8 days. Do you just have incredibly dainty wrists? This isn't a problem for anyone else (almost all of which have played/play more then you do).
7) Please stop making stupid threads and keep your questions to the thread provided.
8) This is dumb.

Botting is when a bot plays for you, not when it skips the "you won" notice.
Also preventing botters would be anti cheat mechanisms not rules saying "you can't do this because its somewhat similar but different to botting".

I am complaining about 1000 to 4000 extra unnecessary clicks per day that serve no purpose.

WTF is a click game? Every game on a computer involves clicking mouse/keyboard.

HV is a TBSRPG (Turn Based Strategy Role Playing Game). Strategy is ESPECIALLY important on higher difficulty.

Not a problem for you, you don't speak for everyone.
Yesterday I grinded 40 stamina (I had some build up), I had to click through this "you won a round" window between 2000 and 8000 times that day and for no reason at all. In the 8 days I played I went and did it between 8000 and 32000 times.

I don't think its "incredibly weak wrists" that is the issue when you are getting to such ridiculous amounts of clicks that do nothing. But if it IS then you know what, fine... I have pussy wrists.

And if unnecessary clicks were not an issue then why have a quickbar? Or the R hotkey? All those 2 things do is reduce the number of clicks you need to perform an attack.

Oh hey, there is a unified suggestion thread. Ok, I will make suggestions there. Although to be fair I assumed this was a configuration option I didn't find and wanted to know where it is. It only turned into a feature request later.

So yeah, anything that clicks on your behalf is botting. Look up the number of users with [Cheater] stuck in front of their username and you will know how seriously it is taken.

While I understand that accusing you of being argumentative locks you into a paradox, do please be nicer to your boardmates.

I never said it isn't serious, I said a "you are victorious" message shouldn't count.

I am nice, and polite. If you look back the only rudeness in this thread thus far was Mr. Plow's "this is dumb" and "please stop posting stupid threads" comment. Everyone else (especially me) was cordial and friendly even if they disagreed.

Also, you just dud accuse me of being argumentative, you were merely passive aggressive about it.

Posting a grand total of 3 posts to defend your idea does not make you "argumentative"

You're argumentative because this thread should not have continued past post two, and your question was completely answered by post four.

Maybe "modesty" would be a better term than "niceness". Even leaving aside that your account is a week and a half old, declaring that things "should be" or "shouldn't be" a particular way is strident. There is the way things are and there is the way you would prefer them to be. There isn't a way they "should" be.

I directly called you argumentative; there wasn't anything passive about it. I just had the grace to acknowledge that it's an inherently unfair thing to say because there's no good response.

The extra clicks aren't that many when you compare them to the amount of clicking you already do.

Please....
...as a retired GM on private servers for a popular mmorpg, I've heard many variations of this argument when confronting people using programs to assist their gameplay. Generally, people said that the game wasted their time and that such time wasting should and could be eliminated by use of automation programs.

These players wanted their rewards without expending the effort. It's the attitude of "entitlement".

A particular trend that GM's have noted with players is that those who are accustomed to botting on other servers will insist on botting on any new server they start playing upon, even if it is a totally different game. That's because they are addicted to the ease of collecting their rewards while using game automation programs. I hope that e-hentai doesn't allow such types of game automation not just because it is unfair in how game automation will eventually skew Tenboro's game statistics (and how he will nerf the game in response to excessive reward generation), but in that e-hentai should serve as one of the online bulwarks against the mindset of using game playing automation.

In every server I've been on and all types of games, player game automation has ruined the game for OTHER players. Game automation skews the statistics that adminstrators use to evolve the game. Because HV game credits also affect galleries, automation can also eventually result in additional and unnecessary inflation pressures.

Except you have to be actually playing yourself in order to get a "you win, press space to start next round" window.

Which is totally different then writing a bot that actually plays for you. And its not time its click count I am concerned with.

And while entitlement mentality is running rampant you could also claim that ANYTHING is an attitude of entitlement. Right down to people asking to fix a bug that deletes their character randomly "you entitled kids, in my day we had no save points and left the console on until we finished the game, and if the power went out we started the game from the beginning! bah, entitled children!"

And your arguments for "makes the game easier and skew stats" can be applied to every single script with no exception. Be it a timer reminding you to go to a random battle, any of the scripts that add keyboard shortcuts for actions, or a script that saves the monster data when you scan them.

There is also a hard limit in HV of stamina (in game) which completely nullifies that argument. (except for perhaps people playing less then their daily allotment of stamina due to bad UI design pushing them away from the game).

Read any professional's UI tips and unnecessary clicks to perform an action will be among the top of the list of bad UI designs.
The "you won, click space for next round" is not an action, its a non action. Its the game pausing play for no reason other then to force you to press an extra button to unpause it.
There is absolutely NOTHING you can do EXCEPT unpausing it.
HV needs to eliminate this popup window (data can be displayed in round 0 of next round), as well as add a second row (at least) of ability shortcuts.

And asking arguing something SHOULD BE ALLOWED is not the same as actually DOING it.

QUOTE(Violentin @ Jun 30 2012, 08:25) *

Pressing button is a single action.
Just saying.

1. An action of the human player. The rule clearly refers to not performing more then 1 game action per button press.
For example, existing allowed scripts (linked to in the wiki and hosted on this forum) create buttons or keyboard shortcuts which, when pressed perform a scan, cast a spell, or use an item. It actives with one player action (press a button) to perform 3 player actions (press item/magic, double click item/buff spell of choice). It is allowed because only 1 game action (use an item, cast spell) is executed per button press and no more (and a button press exists and is required) .

2. Good thing I am not using any such scripts as I am erring on the side of caution. I am trying to have a discussion though.

3. I was saying that this is a non action. Its not a game action, its merely unpausing the game. I have found further evidence to support this (came across it by accident due to the recent 503 errors).
If you are in combat, you may close the window and open another. You will find yourself exactly where you left, no actions have occurred and combat did not progress,
If you are shown the "you won" dialog, and you close the window and then navigate to hentaiverse.org you will NOT be presented with that same window again, but rather with the next combat round (or, if it was the last combat round in a challenge you would be shown the character page).

Closing your browser does not magically transmit an action to the game. In fact you do not even have to actually close that window, you may simply open a second window without closing the first. It will navigate you to your "current state" which is never a "looking at a you win dialog".

Pressing space thus does not perform a game action, rather it merely reloads the page to display your real current state. It navigates you from the victory information window to the actual current state of your character.
