In last case, could someone, please, make these characters 100% legible?

The reason, is that the translator couldn't identify these ones, so I'm trying to help him somehow(though I'm not sure if he still is interested in translating that page, as it's been about a couple months already).

Please, could someone make these 100% legible, and translate the second one? The second one is from the same story of shodan89's post though the details will most certainly be kept as japanese(the translator has some problems with the handwritten stuff). The first request is to help him with another project, by the way.

I don't know where you got these kanji but really most (if not all) of it are never used anymore. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
But here some help:
艟 = Ikusabune = fighting ship
黨 = Nakama = faction, clique
袰 = Horo = hood, cover
聢 = Shika = certainly. Mostly this kanji used as 聢り = shikkari = firmly, tightly
贖う = Aganau = to compensate, to make up for
蛩 = Koorogi = cricket
閘 = Hinokuchi = water gate
繃 = Maku = wrap. Used at 繃帯 = Houtai = bandage.
葆 = Shigeru = dense growth. Old kanji of 茂
痾 = Yamai = chronic illness. Old kanji of 病
烋 = it's onyomi is Kou, Kyuu or Kyou (there is no kunyomi) = boasting, fortunate, beautiful
鰤 = Buri = yellowtail tuna
鞋 = Waraji or Kutsu = straw sandals
諳 from 諳んじる= Soranjiru = to memorize
籤 = Kuji = lottery
驀 = Baku or Mat-- = going straight forward. Kanji that used at 驀地 = Masshigura = full speed and 驀進 = Bakushin = dash, rush.

When I search for unknown kanji I always start with the radical first and then how many stroke the kanji is.

So, basically slicing the big kanjis into smaller-sized part radicals? How do you know the radicals in each kanji? I mean, how to know which is which in the dictionary? Sorry if this becomes a bit off-topic..
And lastly, What Kanji dictionary do you use?
