I suggest play 1H (means weapon with shield) with plate armor. Play on the hardest difficulty you can survive. Dont bother to much with how to set your Statpoints, at your level it doesnt really matter that much and until it does, you will have get the hang of it allready. Play some random encounter to get some soul fragments you will need later in the game. Take also a look into WTS there some shops you will get free stuff from as a newbie.

So I installed the Scanner script to try it out, but it doesn't seem to be working. I mean, it highlights the monsters okay, but it's not sending the updated data to hvlist.

Do I need to tinker with the script somehow? Or do I just have an old version? (0.02, from Jenga's sig)

With that said, after getting H@H up and running, I remembered that I used to play a game on E-H - of course this was HentaiVerse. So, here I am trying to figure out how this game works again. It seems like all of my Stats and Skill points have been reset (seems like I have to also make 2 posts again to edit my signature. weird). According to my stats, I'm currently level 21, with 47,267 credits, 99 stamina, 11,402 attribute points, and 21 ability points, and 3 mastery points. I also have no equipment. I tried reading around and getting an idea of how to play and getting started again, but to be honest, I am a bit overwhelmed. If I could have a tiny bit of guidance, that would be awesome. Thanks ahead of time!

yep, reading all this changes may be a bit overwhelming. i tried to write sort of a quickstart guide with useful links and such: https://forums.e-hentai.org/index.php?showtopic=193904
you may be interested in "beginners" section, since i guess you didn't play too much in the past. but still, it may be a bit too much for you.

in short, i suggest you to go with longsword/mace + leather armors. don't bother about high qualities, you'll level up so quickly that you'll need to change them quite often due to level assignment system. Averages from bazaar may be enough - cheap, plenty of offer and a fair chance to find them unassigned.
slot the abilities (general, specific playstyle, armor and supportive spells - especially cure; a spike shield is not mandatory atm), assign your EXP points as STR = DEX = AGI = END = WIS >>> INT.

1H is a good style, but it requires a bit higher profs to shine afaik. apart for that, what stulpen said.

i guess so. as long as the auctioneer registers it, it's valid. if one wants to delete evidences so he cannot even contest anymore what's written, well...

you should ask to the respective auctioneers though.

what do you plan to do the most? i'm telling you because otherwise people will start to tell you to reforge since it will be sub-optimal for PF-GF (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Reforge if you don't get Penetrator 5.
Unless penetrator is nerfed pen5 is vital for mages.

it's not matching, yep. but still, CR and higher deprecating prof should bring a decent performance. same goes for Fire.

Get several level 25 monsters if you want bindings, raise your monsters to higher levels if you want high grade materials instead.

To get also HG Materials not instead. If the chance to get an binding is decreased by the chance to get HG Materials, someone should have told me and my monsters, because they dont care.

I've been thinking on changing to mage for a while now (even created a persona for it) but couldn't choose the element and decided to wait until something good appeared...

Today, I was scanning my inventory and the WTB forum to see if I had something worth to sell and noticed that I had some Stocking Stuffers that no one was buying, so I though: why not shrine one of them just to see what I can get?

Then I got this: Legendary Demonic Katalox Staff of Destruction

Although dark was not my first option, based solely on what I read here, it seems a really good staff and I don't want to pass this opportunity, so Dark it will be!

Now the questions:

- Is the staff really as good as I think it is?

- Is Dark viable for PF GF and PF arenas? How it is compared to other elements?

- I read some of the advices on the wiki and it says that you have to choose between 4+1 or 3+2 (It's the number of Phase+Cotton, right?). How do I decide that? And which piece(s) should be cotton?

- How mages play to increase the clear speed? Scripts, hotkey, spell bar... I already use Reloader and saw that I can change the mouseover defaut action to a T1 spell, but how can I imperil/T2/T3 faster?

- I have ~400 hath and the HV hath perks Vigorous Vitality and Innate Arcana II. There's something I should get? Was deciding between Thinking Cap, Innate Arcana III or saving for Effluent Ether... What do you guys think?
