Sorry to interrupt this interesting discussion about freeshops and greediness, but I'd like it if you could take a look at my current equip and tell me if it's ok or I should change something.

well, i'll throw in my 2 cents and probably anger/annoy some more Freeshop staff again.

in all fairness, it's hard to be fair to everyone & it's impossible to provide every wants/needs to Everyone. at the end of the day, you'll hv to draw a line somewhere to make the Freeshop workable & they choose to help the ones between lv30-200.

i understand their reasoning in making such choices & appreciate them helping other players during their free time. it's a thankless & frustrating job. i'm worried that Piyin will probably punch through his monitor after the 1001th invalid request.

however, the current system leaves some naked <lv30 players & players like you (lvl200-300) that'll have worst equipment than a lvl 50 guy that benefits from the Freeshop. both of these group of players might feel somewhat helpless.

though, there's always other Shops in WTS that somewhat compensates the FreeShop. Early on, i got a lot of cheap& good stuff from, ST-Ru, avalhcz,arialinnoc, & another guy that was banned for botting. also, Negotiate & probably get discounts from people.

There's nothing unfair about the FreeShop. They set the policy and for the most part follow them fairly well. But the staff members putting their own spin on what constitutes a violation of the said policy and penalizing the requesters as they see fit (e.g. banning them for a week) is just silliness. Wolfgirl had rules too, if you messed up you don't get any gear and you have to start over again, 2 days later. A simple rule that's simple to enforce and sooner or later, most people get it.

The eligibility requirement of Lvl 30~200 may seem harsh to someone just starting out but you can easily gain about 10 levels just fighting bare-fisted in the beginning and the monsters at the lowest levels can easily be taken care of with crude weapons anyway. My opinion of a player who've achieved Godslayer level needing free handouts, they should just give up playing HV altogether and go back to fapping to their heart's content. while Axe+Buckler+Shade is an okay style. you should pick some stuff that's at least Superior (preferably Exq stuff) with 3PAB. though, i'd wait a day or 2 before buying/getting anything.

I went buckler first as well when I first started because it was the best shield. Now you just need to go with force shield. I don't know about going shade 1H pfudor, but you probably don't play that setting yet.


Edit: who still uses buckler is digging it's own grave, tbh.

imo, it's hard to sell equipment, especially, when there are Free Shops & many other users willing to give Exq/Mag stuff to users for free (or cheap).

a lot of time, you'll just hv 100-500k (or for some guys Millions) worth of Stuff tied up that you can't sell or take days/weeks/months to sell.

some time ago you may even try to sell a whole set of 4PAB leather armor that would make you somewhat durable. surely, the target would have been a lv50, but there have been one at least. now that same target prefer to have for free a 1PAB exq...

we are unfair as much as lady wolfgirl was some time ago. it's only that now we are under everyone's eyes - because wolfgirl didn't ever, ever have as much stuff as we have now? because now there certainly are more people donating gears/more gears to be donated? because we do a lottery every now and then? whatever else? or maybe for the higher number of rejected requests? i'd like to read/hear your guess...

frankly speaking, piyin once made a review of what he thinks about staff member's behaviours and i was described as a light-minded, someone who only watches the sun and sooner or later would have had his eyes burnt or somewhat else, i can't remember. but it was funny to read it, seriously (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

to be honest here too, i simply can't understand why a lv50 player should have a mag item, or even a leg (every now and then there's someone who arrive at lv31 and ask a leg plate): i can understand that in your eyes it may look like the maximum there is out there, but why have one the best cap possible and go out naked from your beard to your feet?
as for level's limits - lv30+ was made to somehow prevent multiaccounting, or to easily catch them: i don't have anything against powerleveling, but if one day you ask for three phases, i say no and the day after i see a new account that in two hours grew from 0 to 50 and asks the exact same thing you longed fro, well... lv200- was made to prevent that high levels have for free what they should (and could!) have bought anywhere else. come on, would it have been fair to give a mag cap of fenrir to a-certain-someone so he would have spared credits to buy another crystal pack? all of you are somewhat correct though: undiscriminately accepting all these stuff isn't so useful for nobodoy else than newbies that can have them for nothing (and in the long term would penalize their game experience itself): i run a free section in my shop too, but if you note they are something that i would be embarssed to try to sell for how much useful they may be (ie 3PAB leather), surely not a 4PAB shade...

ehm, how should i put it without throwing shit in face of someone? let's say that some staff members are really pissed and they hope with a hard hand they can build some examples. or something similar, can't really remember if it happened while i was on a lull...

Let's be honest, the reason people are complaining about free shop is because cuts into their profit because they can no longer sell not-very-good equips for profits. Causing a deflation of low to mid end goods.

Since people don't need to spend too much money early on, that means they will have more money when they reach a higher level and starts competing for high-end gear. With a fatter savings account, they have more purchasing power, thus they slightly inflate the high-end gear.

Can we please fight this battle somewhere else, thank you.

I have a doubt though. Would this axe be better than this one? Sure it has more PABs, but it does way less damage.

Yeah, I can't go on pfudor for more than ~16 rounds. I wanted to avoid force because the interference is very high, but I'll look into it.

Speaking of shops, at this point it would be more viable for me to open a shop of Ru-chan's caliber instead of yours and Brewdonkey's tbh. I have an atelier that is closed atm since I've yet to have a reliable enough net Connection and capability to reliably clear the Item World, among other things.
As for the free shop, it goes without saying that it has been hoarding all the newbies when HV is by nature a very allegedly free game like a huge oasis in the desert really, and that's all I would say atm.

As for force shield, well, I don't think interference would matter much even for light-armored melee fighters given the high block chance of the force shield really...

you will gain 200 damage but lose a series of other helpful things, you should try yourself.
