Its not really necessary and it would a bit of a pain to do since it would require putting <span> tags around every instance of the symbol, its just that it would be nice. You probably shouldn't have made a new Weapons page, but it'll just be a matter of merging and redirecting stuff around as necessary.

That's the only place I've ever seen it and I don't recall anyone ever posting about one. That's why I'm asking for confirmation of their existence.

It depends, is this for an off-hand or a main-hand? For DW, the offhand gets a 1.5% parry bonus, so it would be definitely be better if that was the case. I'd also say that parry is generally better because you attack only once per turn but can be hit up to 9-10 times.

It's off hand, but it's the stats given when equipped, not the numbers on the gear itself.

I agree with Bobbyb, parry is probably better especially if you have a decent amount of accuracy on your mainhand.

As for the wiki, moved weapons and changed the links, added shields to armor, tidied them up a bit, and added them to the categories page.

Can the proficiency be above the limit cap?
What I mean is, for example curative proficiency caps at level 200 giving +25% curative power, so if I have 200 curative proficiency plus +10 curative proficiency for a staff, my curative spells would gain more than +25% bonus?

I'd be surprised if curative and elemental spells actually have a "proficiency cap." The spells like Shadow Veil, which give percentage bonuses, need to have a cap or they could get to 100% and you'd be invincible. But spells that give a fixed amount of benefit needn't be capped.

Besides, I have 250 elem prof with my mage gear on, and I absolutely see a difference in damage compared to when I switch gear so my elem prof is only 200.

@bladejtr - I'd say that the 7% parry is better. Don't forget that the accuracy bonus you get from your equipment is actually smaller than the printed number. +acc from gear and auras applies multiplicative with your base chance to miss (100% - Attack Accuracy on your character page). Since you're level 64, you probably have about 80% base Attack Accuracy. That means that a 13% increase in weapon accuracy is really only .13*(1-.80) = 2.6% more actual accuracy. You're going to save more health in the long run with 7% more physical defense than you will by killing monsters 2.6% faster.

I've been very lucky with my acquisition of mage gear. Every piece or gear I wear is "of the Elementalist" with at least +8.5 prof. With armor and staff proficiency bonuses, I have +111.11 elemental prof, and 40% chance for 2-turn Ether Theft. I can pump up my +elem prof to +127.8 if I use my high-elem staff, but it's ET is only 32% chance for 1-turn ET, and it's got less +dmg and +acc.

I originally got the motivation to try being a mage when this awesome robe dropped. For an Average, it's freaking nuts, so I wanted to make use of it. When I picked up my current pair of gloves, I knew I was destined to remain a mage.

Here's an example of how overpowered having this much +elem prof is:

A total of 250 Elemental proficiency is amazing!

My highest proficiency total is Divine.
I have three pieces of Heaven-sent gear (1), which two of them happen to be Phase. (2) (3) Along with my staff, these put my Divine proficiency to 263.42 (after scaling).
With 25% Holy rating, I could do some serious Holy damage. Although I'm not ready to face IPU of FSM, as I'm sure that I will need X-Magic.
I try to upgrade my non-scaled equipment everyday to keep my stats high.

So the first of those that I looked at were your phase pieces, and those thoroughly impressed me. Then, after I reads your post, I clicked on your robe... +42 divine prof?!?! Jeebus christ. I didn't know it was possible to get that much of a bonus on a non-staff.

I remember I saw it written somewhere that "Monsters are generate based on character stats" does it include the stats bonus from players equipment?

I seem to have a feeling that whenever I use high +END gear, the mobs seem to have more defense as well. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

I've been looking through some equipment and I've been wondering what classifies an item as good?

I know like some mages want evade, but like stat wise what are the most desirable for a battle mage type character? Also the ranges of these stats. like 3% or whatnot

For instance



1)Physical Mitigation
2)Evade Chance
3)Magical Mitigation
4)Physical Absorption
5)Magical Absorption
6)Attack Accuracy Bonus
7)Burden
8)Primary Attribute Bonuses
9)Resist Chance

Enemy stats are based on your level (and consequently their level), not your stats.
