I was wondering if penetrated armor would still apply to damage done by ethereal weapons? I thought all monsters had 0% mitigation against void damage by default?
The best I could find after searching for this question was this:

I noticed that the Penetrated Armor proc lowers "Physical" resistance by 50% in the wiki.
Does that mean if I use an Ethereal weapon or an elemental Infusion, I don't get any bonus damage?
As long as you're using a weapon to deal the damage, the bonus still applies.
Void weapons basically ignores crushing/slashing/piercing mitigation.
So I guess what this means is that since void is listed after with crushing, slashing and piercing in my chars specific mitigations in the statistics window it counts as physical damage (for monsters as well)?
So a penetrated armor proc on a monster would reduce the void mitigation, effectively turning it into -25/-50/-75% depending on the number of stacks? Since monsters can have negative mitigation?
I don't really know how the damage formula works, so how much of a bonus would that even be? But it should be the same percentage for all monsters then, since they all have 0% void mitigation?
The quote also mentions elemental strikes, but shouldn't that be calculated with the corresponding elemental/holy/dark mitigation of the monster? So it wouldn't be affected by penetrated armor (except for void strike)?
And if the pierced armor proc is so much better than bleeding wound, why would anyone use swords instead of rapier/estoc? Because they are cheaper? (sorry if that should go into the playing style questions)
Also, last question, am I asking too many questions?
