QUOTE(pigowallace @ Jan 14 2015, 17:14) After the last firefox update, HVSTAT causes the brower to crash to desktop upon loading any page of Hentaiverse. Does anyone knows how to fix it?
UGH, Firefox auto-updated to v35 and I confirm this to be true. Not cool, man. EDIT: I "downgraded" back to the latest version of 34 from [ ftp.mozilla.org] Mozilla's FTP dump and turned the auto-updates off. I'll stick with this until either HV STAT or Firefox fixes their shit. This post has been edited by tazmanian devil: Jan 15 2015, 14:22

Send cause in crash report. It's definitely not Ok for a browser to crash because of userscript even if they changed something in API.
Also HV with it's terribly awful default interface is scary.

Did you tried to use this: QUOTE(m118w11 @ Jul 28 2014, 08:48) Great fix and it appears to work. Attached is the same version with the fix for people who are unsure how to code. Remove old script, then reinstall.

After spending most of today trying to track the source of the crashes, I'm fairly certain it's because of this: [ www.mozilla.org] https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/security/advi...es/mfsa2015-09/When using certain '@grant' tags, Greasemonkey needs to create the sandbox with xray privileges and this is when the crash occurs. Scriptish always creates sandboxes with xray privilege and will crash whether or not @grant is included. Setting 'wantsXrays: false' directly in 'modules/utils/Scriptish_injectScripts.js' will stop the crashes but also remove the privileges the script needs to run. Unfortunately this means either Greasemonkey or Scriptish need to find and implement an alternate method to allow scripts to use these privileges, Firefox need to fix these crashes, or HVStat needs to move away from being a Userscript on Firefox. I assume Scriptish will fix this, as I assume this will impact a large section of their user base, but it might be about time HVStat became a full-fledged add-on (which will likely introduce more bugs during the transition phase). I'll be looking into this over the next few days and deciding on the best direction for HVStat to take. For now you will either need to use Chrome, or roll back to Firefox 34. Sorry. Latest release available here: [ github.com] https://github.com/GaryMcNabb/HVSTAT/releasesIncludes support for alt.hentaiverse.org, runs on FF 34 (sorry still no fix), and has a few extra options for powerup alerts. I'd first recommend trying to run Firefox as an administrator, even if you think you already are. (Right click shortcut >Properties > Compatibility tab). If that doesn't work, let me know what version of windows (XP, Vista, 7, 8/8.1, x86 or x64) you're running and I'll try again in a VM or something.

I tried the fix Rikis posted earlier and it made firefox crash instead of the script just not working. Best of luck to the dev team on this script, because it seems a hard one to fix. It's most likely firefox that is to blame. They update the browser all the time and give exactly no shits about how the addons are affected. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

Firefox can NOT access a database while in private mode, for obvious reasons. If you're trying to run the script in private mode, it will fail. Here are a couple of solutions if you're looking for discretion. - Use a profile manager, and keep a separate profile for 'special activities' - Use Google Chrome (preferably canary) - Grab a copy of [ sourceforge.net] Portable Firefox 34.0 and store it somewhere discreet. Unfortunately, these are pretty much the only workarounds if you don't want to use it in regular mode since this script needs to use a database. Sorry buddy. EDIT: Updated original post to warn future users against running the script in Private Mode. EDIT 2: Running HVStat on Firefox 37.0a2 Developer Edition does not crash the browser and runs flawlessly. I assume that the crashing issues will simply disappear with the next Firefox update, which is great news. This post has been edited by GaryMcNabb: Jan 25 2015, 19:37

Apologies for the double post, but this update affects most of the users of HVStat.Due to the recent truckload of issues with Chrome no longer tolerating 3rd party extensions and Firefox 35's implementation of sandboxes causing CTD, I felt it necessary to make some changes to address these issues. The biggest by far is for Firefox users. HVStat will NO LONGER be a userscript, and has been converted to a full extension. This removes the need for Greasemonkey or Scriptish, makes it easier for me to debug, and should result in more stable code. This also means you can update Firefox safely, the xpi add-on runs on FF35+ and will not CTD. For Chrome users, HVStat has been added to the webstore. I'm hoping that it won't be removed since HV contains no sexually explicit content and EH is technically not a 'commercial' adult website. In the event that it is removed, alternate methods of installation have been provided. I highly recommend users update, as all support will be provided on the assumption that you have. [ github.com] Downloads + InstructionsAs usual, please report bugs in this topic.
