The way I have been doing it is spend countless hours... and cry a lot.

The smallest issue can cause the script to just do nothing at all or otherwise fail significantly,
so I comment out sections until I find the exact line/lines that cause the issue. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

It's so tough. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/anime_cry.gif)
I just pray to reproduce in Chrome at the moment.

Sometimes, in arena fights, with chrome and 5.4.0, the script hasn't time to load up and we have round without info (hp, etc)

Press Ctrl+Shift+J when it happens. Then post the screen shot.

Playing a IWBTH Arena slower and slower. Checked chromes memory usage which was at 500 MB. I unactivated HV Stat and reloaded the page. Memory usage was now 60 MB.

I'm using Chrome 21.0.1180.60 on windows 7.
Javascript console showed no errors.

As Chrome doesn't allow downgrades I will have to uninstall it.
Will that delete all my saved stats also?

Open task manager of Chrome (press Shift+ESC), then check memory usage of the task "Tab: The HentaiVerse".
When I ran "The Trio and the Tree", the task used 120MB. (Chrome 21.0.1180.60 on windows 7 64bit)

Your stats saved in the file "{System Drive}:\Users\{your login name}\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Local Storage\http_hentaiverse.org_0.localstorage".
Usually, Chrome does not delete this when uninstalling. Take the backup manually if you're concerned.

greentea, it seems you only gave GreyPanther a way to check his usage, not a fix. Is such a thing possible?
Or should I just rummage through to find an older version?

Sometimes HVStat would run before the HP bars had finished downloading. As HP is calculated by the width of the HP bar, it would cause the script to fail pretty early on.
This was fixed in 5.4.1

Can you please post which options you have on. This will help us to narrow our search for the memory leak.
If you want to downgrade, greentea039 provided instructions on how to back-up your stat data.

There is no fix at this time but posting what options you have enabled may help us to find one.

EDIT: On a related note, we are currently developing a framework for HentaiVerse related mods which should enable users to manage their mods and settings much easier. It's being coded with performance, manageability, user-friendliness and compatibility in mind. So that might be something to look forward to.
It should also make mod creation substantially easier as cross-browser compatibility will be handled by the framework itself rather than it's add-ons.

The memory leak problem seems to be a bug in Chrome. Reference [code.google.com] here.

I don't know if it's related as i am not using hv stat but i had a problem of memory leak caused by tampermonkey on chrome yesterday, i uninstalled it and it works fine now.

Firefox 14.0.1 with HV Stat 5.4.0

I did just install HV Shop System 0.5.5 today, but I disabled it and reloaded, and it remained like this:

I have been consistently seeing the same issue as ohey on chrome using script v5.4.1.4 [BETA] (and earlier).

I THINK it only happens when I play too fast but I am not quite sure. Missing parts get readded on the next round when I perform an action. (except on the rare case it happens twice or thrice in a row)

"privatekey.pem" is used to create packages for future upgrade.
"dnatabar-HVSTAT-f40b361.zip" contains all files necessary for development.

HVSTAT users can just download from [github.com] here.

that is where I downloaded the zip from but as long as it's not damaging or malicious I wont worry about it.

Download the crx files, not the zip.

When you click [Download as zip], it zips the development files. They're the absolute latest version of the code (bleeding edge) and may or may not work at all.

Generally they run but there could be terrible bugs we haven't caught yet.

I found a small bug in the colour coding of the battle log.

When using Infusion of Divinity to gain Holy Strike it gives the wrong color when procing of a crit.

He's doing a shitload of behind the scenes work and has fixed a ton of bugs.

I'm having an issue this morning with Firefox where whenever I'm in a battle, my wrench icon disappears, my warnings don't work, and all the duration numbers aren't showing. However, the titlebar is still changed, the monster labels are still numbers, and the HV logo is still removed.

The only error in the error log related to greasemonkey at all is a "This operation is insecure", concerning the STAT .js

I'm using the latest beta version, but it occours with any version that I use. Disabling every other addon in firefox also doesn't fix the issue. The problem didn't exist until yesterday night.

EDIT: a bit of clarification, the wrench returns whenever I'm out of battle, so I can change options whenever I'm in the menus, this only occours in battle.

Restarting Firefox seems to fix my problems, at least most recently. Anyway, when it's being erratic, and only showing stuff like the scan and wrench buttons but not the saved monster stats (even for basic monsters) scanning just makes it vanish, and it of course doesn't save the scan results. I know you want this to ultimately not matter, but perhaps it should check to see if it went through every round's turn results whenever it could update scan results (or text colors if you wanted), before it would look up the results to show for the round, of course. It's pretty annoying scanning the same monster over and over but only succeeding in stunning HV Stat yet again. Alternatively I'd like the ability to paste scan results into somewhere in HV Stat and have them recorded, or best yet a shared server for scan results (I know Tenboro probably wouldn't allow this, but if you could do it you could for example disregard scans made while the enemy is imperiled (do you record these without compensating right now?), or better yet use them to improve the accuracy of scan results in conjunction with normal scan results, and just make it so that everyone had to scan 0.1 or 0.01 or however many monsters per round it would take to collectively keep things pretty current (it could also force new scans (if you wanted the info, of course) whenever a monster that has no or out of date information appeared), resulting in a great situation for everyone; I currently scan every monster I can get HV Stat to record (unless I'm getting desperate to win), but I still mostly run into unscanned monsters).

EDIT: Sigh, it's already awful again, and all I changed in settings was my HP alert message for 56% HP...

1. Remove your HVSTAT, then install HVSTAT 5.4.1.4 [DEBUG].
2. Add "http://hentaiverse.org/" to your bookmark.
3. Start HV from the bookmark.
4. If you encounter the bug, perform the following operations.
5. Start Firebug from the menu of Firefox.

I'm having difficulty following your steps because your e-hentai.org "image host" is VERY uncooperative. Firebug is repeatedly calling your three images "corrupt or truncated", and even pasting the links gives "The image "{URL}" cannot be displayed because it contains errors. If you tell me what to click on I can do it, and I saw them at some point in the past, but they weirded out, and I can't get them to load anymore.

YET ANOTHER EDIT: Okay, it generally moves between what's basically those two (without much consistency, although scanning seems to always ruin things as much as possible; the first one is always different in various ways; I always see numbers being skipped, and often see it not starting at 1, and sometimes it starts a showMonsterStats: sequence but starts over again in the middle, including not at 1, etc.), and here's a third one:

I'm having difficulty following your steps because your e-hentai.org "image host" is VERY uncooperative. Firebug is repeatedly calling your three images "corrupt or truncated", and even pasting the links gives "The image "{URL}" cannot be displayed because it contains errors. If you tell me what to click on I can do it, and I saw them at some point in the past, but they weirded out, and I can't get them to load anymore.

It is strange.
Does anyone happens the same thing?
