Is that solveable by a HV Stat update or is it on google's side?
After today's dawn (or yesterdays? the one 18h ago) I could still play fine, now I've got the same memory leak issues, pretty much unplayble as is.
I guess this was due to the chrome update (when was the newest one released?), although I didn't even notice there was an update, firefox at least tells you when there is a new one. >_>

Fuck Chrome.

At the same time, disable all the scripts seems to solve the problem (if that's a solution at all)

Firefox actually went to silent updates too, I have had FF updates installed without even noticing as well.

I found you can make it playable by disabling all tracking and disabling "Show monster info from database". There is still slowdown but its managable (at least on my beast of a machine). I also disabled the record mosnter skills but I am not sure that is needed.

All scripts are contributing to it but the tracking and monster DB are the worst offenders.

Oh, you can also quickly "clear" the leak by opening a new tab with HV and closing the existing one. Thanks to chrome memory structure of "always aware" this completely eliminates everything that tab was doing.

Fuck Chrome.

Well, its 10x faster then firefox and only crashes once every few months rather then once a day like FF does.
Biggest drawback is google refusing to implement a bunch of features, most importantly among them is the bookmarks sidebar

I said that because there isn't even a choice for me to choose when to update that. Do they think every 'stable' version will be free of problems? At least there's a choice in firefox.

And yes chrome is way faster, but when it fucks up in a way like that...
I can probably be a melee though for a few days, as I don't need scripts to help meleeing.

Oh I agree, its painful and stupid... I use chrome as my primary because overall its a little less shitty on average then every other browser but it still has its own oodles of shit you have to put up with...

Per default, maybe. There's an option to change that though, I've set it to search for updates but I have to confirm the installation.

I switched from ff to chrome for HV because of the memory leak in ff HV Stat in the first place, this now happening with chrome as well is rather annoying.

For the time being I just installed the v21 of chrome, seems to work so far and didn't update yet either.

So, judging from the replies it's an isses that need to be fixed by google?

Now that I'm using v21 again, I think I had a bit of those issues in v22, too. Not quite noticeable but I was about 10-15% faster today. Might be a coincidence though.

If it wasn't I'm actually grateful to the update, as that one led to me downgrading chrome, oh the irony.

I managed to find a place where you can get v21 for Iron
[www.afterdawn.com] http://www.afterdawn.com/software/general/...ersion_id=50081

Iron is a slightly modified version of google chrome. Removes some tracking things mostly.
They do NOT host anything but the latest version; ironic since they do not believe in auto updaters either so it will not auto update once you install it.

This will let you use HVSTAT properly until google gets their shit together and solves this. (not FF because mozilla will NEVER get their shit together and solve their memory leaks)

Unfortunately its impossible to downgrade. I uninstalled v22, downlaoded v21 specifically from some download site (the official site does not offer older versions!), and when I installed it I got v22 again. (the hashs on the installers are different....)
Maybe if I try doing it without an internet connection...

With Google Chrome its impossible to disable updates and impossible to download a specific older version.

You can disable Chrome auto-update by tweaking with registries, I'm running v22.0.1229.94 with no problem. Follow this guide.

That's awful - I see like 25% slowdown with firefox compared to iron, not 10 times. Check your idle tabs, they may be leaking due poorly written .js(this includes the google non-search pages as poorly leaking ones).
Honestly, last I checked I found FF better for handling lots of tabs while chrome lagged to hell with hundreds, but haven't done that in a long time.

HVSTAT v5.5.0 Experimental (Only for Firefox)
Experimental version based on v5.4.5

Changes
  • Divided the script into user-interface part and execution part
  • Greatly improved response in combat

[attachmentid=19698]

How to use
  1. Remove older version of HVSTAT
  2. Install HVS_FIREFOX_control_panel_5.5.0_experimental.user.js and HVS_FIREFOX_driver_5.5.0_experimental.user.js

All functionality is the same as v5.4.5.
Any feedback is welcome.

May? My idle tabs are leaking like a mofo!
I got about 30 idle tabs per browser... this means a daily crash on FF.

How do we solve
"Database open error: 1"
after every action?

edit: Got this alert after I downgraded Chrome to 22.ver.

Chrome 23 stable version has been released but it has serious memory leak bug.
(See [code.google.com] Issue 113983)

Memory usage increases and JavaScript slows down on every page reload.
There is no workaround now.

I recommend that you do NOT use Chrome Edition until the bug will be fixed.

jquery-ui.min.js line 19

Delete it, you can get a good performance.
At least, in my computer memory usage does not increase infinitely.

but, I don't know the usefulness of this line of code, and delete its risk.

Error code 1 is defined as UNKNOWN_ERR. I have no information about that. Version downgrade may not be supported about IndexedDB.

Try Chrome v23 and HV STAT 5.4.5.1 or delete the database from "Monster Stats" tab on Chrome v23.
