I gravitate toward video game sound effects myself. No More Heroes had some great fau-chiptune stuff.

For a while, I used the codec sound from Metal Gear, but that sounded too normal and like a real ringtone. So I switched to the Newtype sound effect from Gundam. Now I'm bored with it. I've been toying with the idea of using WRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY from that one JoJo game or maybe a Kenshiro sound byte. I've got a few from when I made the Hokuto Shinken mod for Fallout 3/NV.

Maybe try the sound of a police siren. Depending on the company you keep, the results could be funny. Or dangerous.
