The actual fapping isn't that important. If a teenage boy sees a cute female in a series, there's a good chance they will become more interested in it, consciously or otherwise. Webcomics and online games frequently make a point of putting a cute female character in their banner ad just hoping you'll click through and actually like what you find. I've fallen for this myself; even if I'm not crazy horny, my brain has made a positive association with images of cute girls, so it's hard not to be curious.
