No, it's a euphemism for the bag I have tied to my waste that devours children and leaves nothing but their skulls for some reason.

My mom's old. Back when she was young and walked to school uphill both ways in 10 feet of snow there was no such thing as College. Or air. She just worked on her terlet all day. My, how we loved that terlet. That is, until the Kaiser stole it. But we chased that rascal 20 diggety miles. Anyways, College is for college people.

I totally agree with that. I tried Banh Mi at Huong Lan Sandwiches in Sacramento and it was awesomeness done to a baguette.

I always thought I wouldn't like bahn mi because I like having tons of meat on my sandwiches, but the bahn mi I had yesterday totally changed my view.

And only for $2.50 for a large, so yay. Gonna buy some more on the way to class today.

I like bahn mi because it has headcheese in it. And sometimes, pate. Also, baguette.

I don't like a lot of meat in my sanvich. I like just enough.

QUOTE(grumpymal @ Jan 12 2013, 13:42) *

Korokke and onigiri are stupidly labor intensive for a guy like me, but they're so motherfucking good goddamn.

How about omurice? Or tonkatsu/katsudon? Gyudon is always well-received. Takoyaki and taiyaki are awesome, but those require special pans (I'm that much of a weeb foodie that I bought some) and I'm still trying to find the perfect recipe for taiyaki batter. Dorayaki is good too, but its just a pancake sandwich with beans inside. If you're feeling adventurous, curry pan.

1+ week later, noted. Tonkatsu seems like probably the best choice, but Omurice sounds good as well. I'd definitely like to learn how to make curry dishes, but it might be too troublesome over there.

Also, I'd say Taiyaki is more or less 'a pancake sandwich with beans inside', but maybe I've just had mediocre taiyaki.

Just use Golden Curry. Several of my Japanese acquaintances use it.

Gotta find the right batter recipe.

Friends' sisters are always relevant. Unless they're seriously underaged. Then its just creepy.

Either that or I've had some really crappy pancakes.

I just reread this whole thread. Probably one of the better things I've wasted an hour on.

EDIT:
Also, I used to think I didn't like pancakes. Then I got older and realized I just didn't like my mom's pancakes. True story.

That is one of the nicest things anybody has said about my thread.

Also I'm not really that much of a pancakes person, so I don't eat too much, but maybe I am not a pancake person BECAUSE I don't eat too much and haven't acquired a taste for them / found a place that does them decently.

I ate pancakes like once in the last three years or so. Failed attempts at making them by my sister don't count.

5 year difference? And I blame a lot of it on the fact that she apparently had a crush on me when I was in high school. I was just clueless then (and still am now) as to how I should handle it. It's probably not mutual at this point.

I heartily recommend shopping around for a good pancake place if you don't have an IHOP available. If you do, you've seriously gotta try them out.
