I have crap melee proficiencies and attributes skewed heavily in favor of mage, and I can easily tell melee is too OP with skills, power gems, and HP/MP/SP regen weapon types. They afford melee almost all the advantages of a mage without the crushing disadvantage of poor damage mitigation. So you sacrifice playing speed slightly in favor of a massive increase in survivability and still complain about melee and mage being unbalanced? They are unbalanced, but only because mage has none of the melee advantages of rapid use 100% accuracy AoE skills, insta-kill skills under cetain conditions regardless of enemy health, Penetrated Armor, Stun, massive Bleed damage, tank mitigation, and even huge amounts of Block should you choose shield armor and/or a shield.
Mage's one huge advantage, killing everything before they can attack on low difficulties, has been completely removed with the latest HP mod. High difficulties had already been much slower for mage since the repeated EDB nerfs, which is why no mage players bother with sustained play above Normal-Heroic range anymore. Meanwhile, the good melee players cruise along on IWBTH, yet, Tenboro intends to crap on mage further by making magic AoE work like 2H Domino Strikes.
That's why I'm working on switching from mage back to melee. Oh, did I mention I have the best staff in the game too?
HP/MP/SP regen weapon types are as crappy as doing ET. Doesn't even trigger most of the time, and the amount it does steals is BS.
What advantage, we can't do serious damage until we get Heartseeker @ 170, everyone below that level will barely survive running arenas on normal with the added HP scaling now. For Dual Wielders, we can't even use the damn 3rd skill until we sink enough AP into SP and Overcharge that equals 175% or more on the overcharge meter, that means the majority don't see it until around lvl 50 or higher assuming that they put boatload of money into Ability Boost.
Why don't you tell Tenboro to turn those resistances at the end of AoE spells back into damage multipliers or whatever it was before instead of whining about the other group of people.
Well I don't think you have room to mouth-off since I can pull melee equipment out of my trash heap and still be stronger than you. I played as a melee for the entire time HV existed until mage was made into a viable player class.
It just gets old seeing melee-exclusive players piss and moan about mage being so great when they've had a silver spoon placed in their mouth with the skills update and don't even know it.
Not necessary. Tenboro has proven the player class power hierarchy to be cyclical, so mage will be back on top some day. For the 99% of you that weren't here when HV started, melee was stronger than mage by far for the better part of a year.

Of course you're stronger than me: hath perks, level, completed (or almost completed) ability tree... So it's not a fair comparison anyway. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

The war between mage and melee starts to get into something like Republican vs. Democratic. Instead of focusing on pressing matters, they just try to curse their opponents to hell.

More like Bronies vs non-bronies. Less talk, more ponies and a lot of bashing.
