you lose about like 100 damage per hit in exchange for pumping up more useful stats such as intelligence, endurance and wisdom

I always have this superstitions about how stats mechanic works and a perceived few gameplay oddity in HV (and it's not about 'I haven't get any ___ drop since ___' that people usually have superstition about) and I won't surprise if others have a few of their own version as well. Tenb's habits of not revealing much of the mechanics, making not-so-accurate changelog in most major update, and making change without notice certainly helps perpetuating this notion.

I'm not complaining though, since I see it as a good thing. And if it gives Tenb more lulz seeing people acting stupid or trying ceaselessly to crack the code or any other futile endeavor, I'm happy for him. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I suspected this have something to do with the patch that, after a chain of events, basically increased Regen strength to something like 1.5-2.5x stronger.

Im usually damn careful about the mazes, maybe only missing 5% of the time when im lazy. Not seeing Energy Drinks like I used to either. Not as often from SnowFlake at the shrine anway.
