0.6.3
The Forge
The Forge is now open for service. In this initial release, you will be able to upgrade most equipment stats except for procs, burden and interference.
- Each upgrade level adds 1% to the base stat in question. Most upgrades are currently limited to 20 levels, except for physical and magical damage which go up to +50.
- Upgrading a stat requires an upgrade-specific binding as well as a number of materials depending on a) the equipment quality and b) the number of times the stat has been upgraded.
- Rare armor also requires a special component to upgrade, unless there is another upgrade on the equipment piece at a higher level than the one you're currently upgrading. -- Essentially, this means that upgrading one stat to level 5 will require 5 rare components, but after doing so you can upgrade all other stats to level 5 without using any more.
- Contrary to previously given information, upgrading equipment doesn't prevent you from trading them.
Equip Screen revamp
- Now with random out of place rounded corners for no reason. AmIdoinweb20rite?
- Clicking a slot will now take you to a new screen that shows everything that can be equipped in that slot. This screen has a comparison function that shows both the currently equipped item and the item your mouse is hovering over.
Spirit Attack and Overcharge
- Spirit Attack has been replaced with Spirit Mode. When toggled, physical damage is boosted by +100% and magical damage is boosted by +50%. Spirit Mode consumes one point of Spirit and 10% overcharge per round.
- Overcharge no longer directly boosts physical damage.
Weapon Skills
- The first weapon skill has been added for each weapon class. The way these skills work is that they require a minimum Overcharge to use, but fully drains it when you do. Additional Overcharge gives a bonus towards the inflicted damage.
- Weapon skills all use your current mainhand weapon element.
Misc
- Clearing A Dance with Dragons on Battletoads or IWBTH difficulty will now get you a super-special title.
- Being stunned or sleeping no longer causes a monster to lose its turns. It will now attack immediately after breaking Stun/Sleep.
- Fixed a bug where two-handed attacks would gain Overcharge for every enemy hit.
- The missing bindings for physical crit and magical crit were added to the loot table.
- The number of crystals dropped in the Crysfest now increases with the number of rounds played. This caps at round 500, where three times the normal amount is dropped.
- Tokens now all have the same chance to drop.
- Collectibles, Trophies, Artifacts and rare consumables have been combined in the "Special" tab in the Item Shop.
- There is now a separate tab in the Item Shop for materials.
- Fixed a bug where health and spirit could randomly reset after a battle.
- Arenas previously cleared at the current or higher difficulty level no longer restore your vitals.

No wonder the instant I starting fighting that I noticed enemies were dying a lot slower. Welp, time to try this Spirit Mode out. QUOTE - Spirit Attack has been replaced with Spirit Mode. When toggled, physical damage is boosted by +100% and magical damage is boosted by +50%. Spirit Mode consumes one point of Spirit and 10% overcharge per round. Quick opinion: - Lower difficulties: Somewhat decent. Constantly 100% boost is better than whatever <100% people with max Overcharge got before. - Higher difficulties & later Arenas: Not so decent. Constant SP drain means I can't use it for very long, not to mention the Overcharge drain that occurs when I need to cast a spell to heal, which occurs more often. Also interferes with Spirit Shield greatly, and for me, managing mana potions on Heroic was hard enough already. Now I have to carry Spirit Potions too? QUOTE - Arenas previously cleared at the current or higher difficulty level no longer restore your vitals. So... Completing it at a lower difficulty does? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) QUOTE Iris Strike damages Satsuki Yumizuka for 18646 void damage. ...Not very impressive? This is coming from 240% Overcharge. I mean, I think using Spirit Mode is so far a much better option of Overcharge usage since it lasts longer. And obviously it's no Spirit Attack, but still, expected something a bit more damaging. Current impression: HV just got more tedious. This post has been edited by HaliZorat: Dec 24 2011, 11:15

A new title after beating dance of dragons on battltoads or up, it must be special if it has super special to it (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) Also I figure we will start to use those material for our equipment the next time you update. Holy fuck we're gonna need a lot of rare materials. And at 50k (unmodified) a pop, that's gonna get pricey. Oh well, that's what credit inflation does. Don't know if want. QUOTE(Tenboro @ Dec 24 2011, 03:40) - Overcharge no longer directly boosts physical damage.

LOL, now maybe people will stop bitching about Healing Tokens and instead bitch about losing their free arena heals.

QUOTE(Tenboro @ Dec 24 2011, 02:40) Equip Screen revamp
I don't see the the number of equipment we currently have anywhere. Did you remove the 1k cap? QUOTE(Tenboro @ Dec 24 2011, 02:40) Weapon Skills
Not impressed. Shattering Strike? Really? Its damage is craptastic at best, not worth the Spirit at all. Might as well use it on Spirit Mode. QUOTE(Tenboro @ Dec 24 2011, 02:40) - Spirit Attack has been replaced with Spirit Mode. When toggled, physical damage is boosted by +100% and magical damage is boosted by +50%. Anything that has a percentage boost scares me. Not sure if it works or not, will need to test later, but I hope it's not bugged like the 10% damage we are supposed to get from our title and auras. QUOTE(Tenboro @ Dec 24 2011, 02:40) - Clearing A Dance with Dragons on Battletoads or IWBTH difficulty will now get you a super-special title.
So what about the people that cleared it on IWBTH 3 times previously and once on BT? We need to clear it? AGAIN?

Concussive strike... undocumented feature? So I use 100% of my overcharge, and I get a 5 turn stun? It only seemed to last 2 attacks... is stun undone by direct attacks? I've never used a weapon that did stun before... Edit: oh, apparently that's my staff's item skill? I should have paid attention to if it did any damage... also, apparently I (a mage) now need overcharge boost to be more effective? And does this mean the only way for people to do Spirit damage is use an infusion or that higher level spell? I haven't tried Spirit Mode yet... QUOTE(Dark_Force_0 @ Dec 24 2011, 02:50) CODE - Arenas previously cleared at the current or higher difficulty level no longer restore your vitals. NOOOOoooo... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) I second that. this just made my daily low level arenas (at highest difficulties) take that much more time =/ This post has been edited by Akin: Dec 24 2011, 11:07

QUOTE(Tenboro @ Dec 24 2011, 02:40) - Clearing A Dance with Dragons on Battletoads or IWBTH difficulty will now get you a super-special title. FUS RO DAH! Is it not retroactive? I don't see anything... Also, for old equipment that has stats exceeding the current maxes, what will happen if we try to upgrade those? Will they increase properly, or that stat be set back to the current max? I'm not upgrading the boss stick until I know it's safe. Great timing BTW. I was just about to stop playing Skyrim since I've maxed my character and finished all non-bugged/radiant quests. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

So is there a way to tell if/how much an item has had its stats boosted by The Forge? I'm saving up my stuff. And can we get a list of the item skills?

QUOTE(Tenboro @ Dec 24 2011, 03:13) Yeh.
Follow-up question. Does it make a difference whether it's done in BT or IWBTH or do they both give the same title? Please say the IWBTH one is 20% cooler.

I just used the Shattering Strike. I'm actually impressed with its effectiveness so far. I wish it didn't use so much overcharge though, makes follow up attacks less effective.

It's in the equip screen? Cool, as long as I can tell it's been modified before I buy it. Unrelated: How come all of the special armor thingies are always maxed out in the store, but the store never has crystallized phazon... is it more rare?

I tried one upgrade but it is still soul. Otherwise cool upgrade. I might even try DwD on BT after my Skyrim break (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) This post has been edited by Ichy: Dec 24 2011, 11:30

crystallized phazon<-I don't think they are more but just no one sells them the new equipment tab is nice but where can we see how many equipments in total we have? Or the 1000 cap is removed? And, all warriors are crying.
