This Konosuba doujin has a gimmick of him calling the dildo he made "Eris" the same name as one of the Goddesses. There's some lines where the vagueness is getting to me and I'd like some help.

The context makes me think Kazuma is saying that eris the dildo was a mistake (like a failed experiment), but the の makes me wonder if it means that it being on him is a mistake of Eris's (He would have just seen her after being revived as the page notes.)

Is this Kazuma stating that he's the owner and Darkness should return it. On the next page Darkness says 持ち主が名乗り出た...だと? Which makes me wonder if he's talking about an unknown owner or maybe Eris depending on what the first page meant.

「エリス様の名前を語り油断させる」 is Darkness saying Kazuma used Eris's name (by saying the dildo appeared due to a mistake by Eris, thus implying it belonged to Eris) to make her (Darkness) lower her guard.

Eris referenced Kazuma's PP for her own dildo but accidentally sent it together with Kazuma during the resurrection.

I don't see any evidence that the dildo was actually made or owned by Eris.

EDIT: I am probably wrong again. See _LMF_'s reasoning in the next post.It's actually possible that you are right. At the very least, I now think I am wrong.

Based on Kazuma's expressions on page 4, when he first spotted the dildo, it looks like he really had no knowledge of it. When he said どうせエリスの手違いだろうから, he may have implied it belonged to Eris (at least that's what Darkness thought), but that was based on his assumption, and there's no evidence to support his assumption.

On page 8, when Darkness said the dildo actually belonged to Kazuma (自分の持ち物であるにもかかわらず) and that he mentioned Eris's name to set a trap for her, Kazuma actually looked like he didn't know what she was talking about. So it seems likely that the trap was just born from Darkness's imagination, based on her assumptions. This reasoning matches Darkness's tendency to fantasize.

Now, on page 12, when Kazuma talked about his penis being the original Eris (何を言う これは開発の元になったオリジナルエリスだ), I now think he's talking about dildos in the general sense. He was saying that dildos are all based on real penises, and not that the "Eris" dildo that they found was based on his penis in particular.

So, unlike what I previously thought, the dildo doesn't seem to belong to Kazuma. Kazuma only mentioned he found its owner, but he didn't give any clues about who the owner actually was. Apart from Eris, isn't there the possibility that it was accidentally left there by some other character such as Aqua or Megumin?

I don't know anything about Eris or how Kazuma's resurrections work in Konosuba. If there have been canon cases of similar incidents or it matches Eris' personality to be clumsy like that, there's a higher possibility that the dildo does actually belong to Eris.

I think rinruririn was right in #8463.

At least in sentences where subject becomes the dildo (e.g. p10 top right, p14 second panel)

I read those lines where Darkness got hyped and talked to herself as the artist's way to "give away" the plot.

On p8 Kazuma said he wanted to run tests on the prototype dildo so he flased it in front of Darkness as he was thinking she would be interested.
He used to sell his knowledge of items for money in anime (they called it intellectual property rights if I recall correctly). Not sure who made it, or if it is based on Kazuma's penis, but it should belong to him.

Therefore Kazuma was lying about
1. Eris made a mistake
2. someone claimed ownership of the dildo (just to bring up the topic)

Anyway, nice doujin.

Ahh, you are completely right. I tunnel-visioned the other panels instead of reading the entire thing thoroughly again. Also Kazuma calls it 「俺のエリス」"My 'Eris'" at the bottom of page 7.

Yeah I don't think Eris made it after Kazuma's dick, in fact on page 10 Kazuma says "いやそうじゃなくて…　感想を…” Which makes me think he just wanted to test the product on Darkness and ask for her thoughts but she got carried away.

Kazuma did indeed name the dildo "Eris". But 名前を語る doesn't mean anything like "to name something" (to give something a name) although the 語る/騙る kanji error might have made you end up thinking that.

Yep, it didn't feel right but I didn't know what else it could mean. It's always a curveball when there's a mistake on the mangaka's part. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who had trouble with this stuff.
