QUOTE(Mr.MPD @ Apr 21 2022, 23:46) *

Hello, everyone, I need your help with something. Here's the situation: I'm translating to Spanish a Zero no Tsukaima doujinshi, and I noticed that desudesu didn't translate two lines to english, maybe because of the scan's low resolution and the author's handwriting.
They're not important lines like the ones in the bubbles, but I'd like to translate them.

Full page (the lines are in the bottom panel): [nhentai.net] https://nhentai.net/g/755/25/
Full page in english (the lines weren't translated): [nhentai.net] https://nhentai.net/g/40082/23/

1. アン ?? まをクガ ? てないでしょ

アンロモ
マンロモ
アンムモ
マンムモ

I don't really know if I get right the katakana. Maybe the "モ" is actually a "さ" for "さま"?
2. はおかしくて ??? かえたモンモンさん

The first kanji may be "結".
"Monmon" is a nickname for a character called Momorency. This line may be an author's comment.

I'll put here the link to the wikipedia page of Zero no Tsukaima for context: [en.wikipedia.org] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Familiar_of_Zero

Thanks in advance.

Bit late but here you go
1. アンタもまだケガ治ってないでしょ
2. はずかしくて結局着がえたモンモンさん

QUOTE(Pangean @ Apr 22 2022, 21:10) *

There's two things I'd like a second opinion on:

https://e-hentai.org/s/e07dae5e48/1979130-6

Last bubble

と実行に移した結果
現在...かなりの好感触でフラグが立ちまくっている -> And once I do... I’ve got a good feeling that I'lll trigger flags one after another!!
https://e-hentai.org/s/c1f6f8fd92/1979130-23

誰も突っ込まないし...気にしなくなっていたんだが -> So nobody ever asked or... nobody cared
Do these translations sound right?

First one’s “good feeling” is more like positive responses, so he’s just saying things are going well.

Second one is “nobody mentions anything…so I stop worrying about it”

QUOTE(HikaruScans @ Apr 29 2022, 01:04) *

Hello everyone! I need some help figuring out some sentences on a postscript for a doujin I'm working on.
The doujin is called "Douki no Sakura" and is an Hikaru no Go parody story. I won't link it because I'm not sure if it's allowed here. The photo here is a capture of the afterword.

Attached Image

The parts I'm having trouble figuring out the meaning are:

"ところで手元にあるフィギュアを見たら葉瀬中の制服は上着の後ろ割れてないですね."
Talking about school uniforms the author is looking at some figures at hand says that this specif school's uniforms are not "split" in the back?? I'm not really familiar with uniforms, so I have no idea if that's an actual characterstic they can have or not or if I misunderstood the sentence.

The second bit I need help with is:

服繋がりですが三谷って、ヒカルと懇意な期間は白シャツなんですよ。かかともつぶしてなくて。更正オープン
マインド三谷!なので今回の漫画はそうしてみました

Frankly, most of this eludes me ahah. The first part I somewhat get, "Talking about clothes (???), Mitani wore a white shirt during the period when he and Hikaru were getting to know each other." But from there on I don't really get the proper meaning of it (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I hope somebody here'll be able to help out (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

You’re right about the first one. The author is talking about how the blazer or the uniform doesn’t have the slit (it’s called a vent).

Second half of the second line is something like “and he didn’t crush the heels of his shoes. So it’s like a new open minded Mitani! That’s why I portrayed him that way in this manga”
Stepping on the heels of your shoes is considered I’ll mannered and a thing delinquents do. And for “new open minded” new is literally “corrected” so depending on the context it might be different but it sounds like mitani used to be a bad boy but is now a changed man.

It doesn't mean anything. I think it's just the name of the high school. Googling it brings up "Wilhelm Hauff".

It really doesn't mean anything other than 懐かしき我がハウフ高校. You're not reading it wrong, that's exactly what's written there.

I need some advice on my TL and JP slang/custom/culture.

Attached Image
  1. What does "花持" mean in this situation, I don't think they literally want to be given cherry blossom flowers. Does it mean your best essence? or something like honors?
  2. Why is Daichi arrogantly asserting he will win anyway, even if the doesn't honor them or give them his essence? I know he's meant to be bratty and prideful but are they saying he should do something SO he can have victory?
  3. I know what Senbetsu is but I don't know why it's spread out with dots between each letter like that. Does this mean anything in particular in tone?

Attached Image

Is this TL too clunky or read badly? Specifically in the third speech bubble.

Thank you again for any advice and feedback.

Without knowing context, I can only guess about the exact details.
  1. https://kotobank.jp/word/%E8%8A%B1%E3%82%92%E6%8C%81%E3%81%9F%E3%81%9B%E3%82%8B-603296 "Let the graduating seniors be the 大将 for the team kendou tournament" or something like that.
  2. This should be much clearer now that you know #1
  3. Farewell gift from the seniors. The spacing out with dots just means they're saying it while emphasizing every syllable, like how you would if you said a complicated sounding word and someone didn't understand you the first time.

I think you're adding in way too much of your own writing. He didn't really say that he can't wait until he can leave. He even felt great that he could come to a great training camp on his last training session.

I'm sorry! I should have provided more context, non tracksuited one wants to be 大将 and they're discussing this right now. And they seemed to have agreed to choose him on the last page.

Looking into Kendo more, I now realise "大将" doesn't mean just mean Team Captain but the last one who fights in a match. So reading it like "don't you think that honor should go to the graduating seniors" didn't quite make sense to me. If I got the last page right.

Last page Context:

For the second bit, I was perhaps foreshadowing too much because the character is in fact thinking of leaving and that's a plot point. But I will remove all that to make it less clunky and more subtle here. Thanks!

Again thank you for the help. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

大将 goes to the best players in the team, and 花を持たせる really does mean something like letting someone have the honor of something. Don't lose that in your translation.

Thank you Komori Translations! and everyone else helping me get a good TL made. I am pretty confident with what I put together now! This part always bothered me because it's so nonspecific and open to interpretation, did I get the story and meaning right for this passage?

This is the ending pages.
Attached Image
(yes ignore i misspelled matsu in this diagram)
  1. not sure whether he's referring to "that time" as what happened, last night. Or contextually, the victory that Daichi just won bringing him joy.
  2. I couldn't work out a raw translation, since it sounds weird to directly say in eng "That present they gave to me caused/brought me my victory!"

Am I missing something or is this what these characters basically mean to say here? Thank you all in advance for whatever you have to say.

Story interpretation and rephrasing feels so clunky (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)

I think the convo goes like this

大地:「松本、あの時。。。 ありがとうな。。。 俺のために。。。」

松本:「いやオレいいんだ、大地が 優勝をプレセントしてくれたしさ。 オレ。。。もう剣道部やめるんだ」

See if it you can make more sense of the convo when I write them this way. I will leave the translation to you.

My two cents based on your previous posts, don't be afraid to keep your translations simple. Most of the time, the pictures(art) and facial expressions will help bring out the context.

I didn't actually pay attention to their mouths! I was just sort of thinking it was talk, response, talk, response type bubble situation. Your convo flow seems to make a lot more sense. Trying to figure out who is speaking without directly naming the person they're addressing and just using manga convention and natural jp conversational flow is sort of hard for me. But thanks for the info and feedback, it cleared things up!

It's off the margins remark, so it's the author talking about himself, I assume. About his school.

So, from what I can tell おちんちん is basically childish slang for penis. Would おまんまん be childish slang for vagina?

チンポ, チンコ means Dick,
マンコ, マン, 膣 means pussy/vagina,

maybe with お most of the time.

Yep おちんちん is slang for small child's penis, but doesn't mean you should translate it to “your childish penis is twitching so hard”. Can be something childish and funny if there's actually a kid.

Yeah, I've heard that おちんちん can be contextually translated into something like "weewee", "wiener", etc. The loli in question even referred to one as such earlier, which is why I thought it wouldn't be out of character for her to use some equivalent term for a vagina. It just hasn't turned up in any dictionary sources and I wanted to be relatively certain that it was accurate.

This is awful, but, can someone translate this Afterwords, please?

(IMG:[ist7-1.filesor.com] https://ist7-1.filesor.com/pimpandhost.com/1/_/_/_/1/d/a/W/0/daW0A/afterwords_l.jpg)

I paid for the translation of the full book a few months ago but the translator is refusing to translate this one which is the only page left.

I guess it doesn't require any context, but the story is about mother and son and friend. The mother has a fetish for smells.
