No this is literally the thing the cats play with. I'll be checking for other ideas (most likely the script won't be edited right away) but for the time being I'll go with green foxtail. Thank you both. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

QUOTE(maipantsu @ Jan 12 2013, 09:31) ![*](style_images/ambience/post_snapback.gif) If you think that green foxtail is a word used in everyday English then it's ok... I was just wondering if there was a more common word to put there.
Go with green foxtail and stick in a t/l note? Sometimes it just has to be done. Like one time when a doujin i translated referenced "filial piety."

Almost done with the translation for a dragon quest doujin and need help with one bubble. Rest of the pages are more/less done (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) Background (page prior) is basically saying she's coming out of retirement (hence a milf Priestess) and wants to help the Hero take out the big bad Archfiend. https://e-hentai.org/s/859100421e/331706-5 <- on this page My concern is that first narrator's box I have: Hero : I'm, I'm the Hero... Hero : ...I'll be in your care Priestess : I..I'm sorry I'm such an old lady. Priestess : But, I was a very good priestess back in the day. (Narrator) : ? My current translation has this: The Hero seemed very young_ was quite gloomy, and was a person of few words. While the Priestess occasionally felt his stares on her back, her quest began. (something like that) and I'm curious if there was a interpretation of the exposition. An alternative interpretation I was given was this: "It seemed the Hero was still a young boy._ The Priestess was gloomy and didn't talked much. And while she could feels sometimes a stare fixed at her back, her quest started.". which I guess could be smoothed out to something like this: "It seemed the Hero was still a young boy._ The Priestess felt gloomy and they didn't talk much. But while she occasionally felt a stare fixed at her back, her quest began." Any help would be appreciated (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Hey guys, how are you getting on? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Finally back to translating, currently helping Slobber with the first chapter of Shuuchi Nikurin. I'm still terrible at this though, hope you guys can help me with some the following stuff! QUOTE これをネタにもっとエッチな事をツ Source: https://e-hentai.org/s/0145e07a8b/480064-13I wasn't familiar with concept of 「ネタ」, but I read quite a bit on the internet (TIL!). It appers that the meaning may differ, with "based on" being a staple. Is this also the case? In the above sentence, something like: " Based on what's happening here..." QUOTE 顔がゆるんでる Source: https://e-hentai.org/s/bca78bf2ab/480064-16 (bottom right panel, last bubble on the left) All I could find was actually 「頬が緩む」. Can I assume, since the subject has pretty much the same meaning, that Kao ga yurunderu also stands for "smiling"? Doesn't seem that obvious given the picture... Also other pictures tagged with 「顔がゆるんでる」 on Pixiv didn't seem super excited to me... :S QUOTE あせってうまく Source: https://e-hentai.org/s/a81229056c/480064-21 (bottom right panel, on the top left) This on really gave me headaches... I'm taking for granted that あせって comes from 焦る (being impatient etc) as it is intransitive, but what is the meaning of うまく in this? Is he just hoping things will go smoothly or is he talking about the girl? :E QUOTE もちもちの尻肉もムレムレで気持ちいい Source: https://e-hentai.org/s/383eda0bec/480064-25 (bottom panel, second bubble) Does " muremure" here comes from 蒸れる, as in "stuffy"? All I could find (hell the best luck I had was with JAV titles!) pointed in that direction, also being translated with "crowded" or "sweaty"... Any thought or help with the above would be highly appreciated!^^

Kinda that. But I think "can't hide the pleasure" is more accurate. This is incomplete sentence of "あせってうまく入らない". Means "can't insert 'cause I'm in great agitation" or something. QUOTE(PeopleDon'tDanceNoMore @ Jan 16 2013, 20:13) ![*](style_images/ambience/post_snapback.gif) https://e-hentai.org/s/b955b5294b/551230-223In the third panel, can anyone read and make sense of the writing on the inside of her jacket? I think the kanji are 炎自江流倶楽部 / 鬼射茶上等, but I don't have a clue what sense to make of those. The last word before the / is "club" (as in an association or clubhouse). Before that, blaze, self, bay, exile... No, can't make anything of that...

These are phonetic symbol kanji often used by Japanese bikers or bad boys. Read as "Angel club" "Onii-cha(n) joutou". BTW, this "上等" means not "high grade" but kinda"bring it on". Cool, thanks. Do you know of any site or webpage I can look at that talks about that sort of thing at all? (Even just about the practice generally. I'm not sure how to search for this topic, and I'd like to read a little about it.) This post has been edited by PeopleDon'tDanceNoMore: Jan 17 2013, 15:39

ちやんと (this one i don't understand no such word on dictionary) ママに話して = Talk to mama (problem?) / Tell mama your problem (which one better?) ママが守つてあげるん だから = I will protect you.

It's ち ゃんと. Just like I said in the other thread, you should check that the script you have written (or that an OCR has given you) is really what is written in Japanese. QUOTE(WhiteKing @ Jan 19 2013, 20:10) ![*](style_images/ambience/post_snapback.gif) ママに話して = Talk to mama (problem?) / Tell mama your problem (which one better?)
Both are okay, except that KirbyDances knows very few people who talk about themselves using the third person (even though it may actually be okay in this situation)... QUOTE(WhiteKing @ Jan 19 2013, 20:10) ![*](style_images/ambience/post_snapback.gif) ママが守つてあげるん だから = I will protect you.
To take into account the だから, would probably reorganize the two parts of the sentence as "I will protect you, so you can tell me about it." This post has been edited by KirbyDances: Jan 19 2013, 14:15
