I'm totally in favor of "Yayoi Addiction," given the context... Okay, so I'm stuck on something too. I'm currently translating AneDol and I'm here. The context is the following: the guy has two girlfriends who are both idols. He's currently explaining what happened since the last chapter (one year has gone by). Now, in the first rectangular box, if I understand well, he says he joined a company called "EFG Cab" (or however that's supposed to be spelled) and became their manager. What I've been wondering is: is this "EFG Cab" a parody of some existing idol agency, is it a name the author invented, or did I just get things wrong? I've been looking on the web, but I didn't find anything that would underpin either of these possibilities. This post has been edited by KirbyDances: Dec 30 2012, 13:22

It's "[ ja.wikipedia.org] Yellow Cab", which was well-known as agency of big-breasts idols. [ www.yellow-cab.co.jp] http://www.yellow-cab.co.jp/

[ www.yellow-cab.co.jp] http://www.yellow-cab.co.jp/Adding to that, the EFG name might be a "graphic" reference to that agency's name. イエロ->EFG E is read "イ" F looks a bit like "エ" G might look like "ロ" (although O or Q could have been better candidates for this) Just an idea. And it doesn't help translating in any way, but sharing is caring! (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Hello again. A quick question: what does the title of this [ g-e.hentai.org] http://g-e.hentai.org/g/513440/a855886638/ mean exactly? 乙女心は半人前 - is it that a maiden's heart is half of herself, or is it that her love is only half serious?

Hi I had a small question for the translators regarding preferences.
When someone blatantly says their age and it's under 18, should we just carry that age through or censor it with a 1X?
like "I'm only 15 years old!" -> "I'm only 1X years old!" or is this a no no?

Age censorship is usually done to avoid eventual magazine/publisher/law limitations in the original work. I usually keep it as it is in the raw: if it's "1x" I make it "1x" because most of the time I can't possibly know if the author meant 12 or 16; if it's "15" I go with "15" since it's explicit in the original. I see no reason to censor it.

Just like maipantsu said, if it's censored in the raw, I leave it censored, otherwise I keep it explicit.

QUOTE(pesu @ Jan 3 2013, 14:32) ![*](style_images/ambience/post_snapback.gif) 乙女心は半人前 I think it's like "She is still an apprentice of girl's mind" or "Her girl's mind is still immature". The title seems saying about Yuyuko.

Hey everyone. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I'm a relatively new translator, and I'd like just a few things checked... the manga is "Kattochan" (available in the galleries)... sorry, it won't let me post a link... QUOTE P04 ま、入んなよ Well, come on in. Is this a good translation? I'm assuming by context it isn't a negative command (don't come in!), and that the な is just the one similar to ね... meaning she's saying something like "well, I'm coming in", which I think sounds less natural in english than "come on in."... QUOTE P06 でも私...他人を押しのけて前へ出たいとは思わないです... But I... I don't think I want to push people away and move forward. I think it's something like she's saying that being able to push people away from her (not let them abuse her and stuff) and become stronger might be too much for her... but I'm not sure... QUOTE P07 いずれクチビルや舌は噛み切るわね... She'll end up biting off her lips and tongue... It seems to literally say "her lips and tongue will bite off [something]", which doesn't make sense, logically or even contextually... could it be a typo for 噛み切られる,"be bit off"? Or an incomplete sentence? Also, just in general, rather than "slave", "master" and "queen" are there better words to use in the BDSM context? I'm not that familiar with it... Thanks. QUOTE It seems to literally say "her lips and tongue will bite off [something]", My suggestion : how about use the word " Gag " or "Clinch"

It's good. She's not saying "Well, I'm coming in", though, she's saying just what you wrote in the end, "Come on in." It's Chigusa talking to Kato-chan. QUOTE I think it's something like she's saying that being able to push people away from her (not let them abuse her and stuff) and become stronger might be too much for her... but I'm not sure... It sounds like (roughly) "I'm not the type of person to push people aside in order to [...?]"...well, I haven't read this, so I don't fully understand what she's supposed to be saying, especially with the 前へ出る part. QUOTE It seems to literally say "her lips and tongue will bite off [something]", which doesn't make sense, logically or even contextually... could it be a typo for 噛み切られる,"be bit off"? Or an incomplete sentence? Looks to me like, "She'll bite through her lips and tongue sooner or later..."

QUOTE(JBVMND @ Jan 6 2013, 02:54) ![*](style_images/ambience/post_snapback.gif) Is this a good translation? Yes. In this context, this "入んなよ" is not "入るなよ", but rough-saying of "入りなよ". QUOTE(JBVMND @ Jan 6 2013, 02:54) ![*](style_images/ambience/post_snapback.gif) I think it's something like she's saying that being able to push people away from her (not let them abuse her and stuff) and become stronger might be too much for her... This "前へ出る" means "give priority to oneself". And, her line means like "I don't like to put myself before others". QUOTE(JBVMND @ Jan 6 2013, 02:54) ![*](style_images/ambience/post_snapback.gif) Or an incomplete sentence? The line is omittred "自分自身で(by herself)". BTW, the title should be "Cut-chan" (not "Kattochan") lol. This post has been edited by Thira: Jan 6 2013, 07:01

Thanks.
think slave/master/mistress is the usual set up

One thing i never quite get over in Japanese is the aggravating lack of explicit subjects, so my question is, on this page https://e-hentai.org/s/331de4d4a5/554083-3Who is supposed to be speaking in the squares? Mars and Saturn, the men, or some third person narrator?

The box was one of those guys who see it directly, looks like the artist want to make a "POV" style , making you imagine that you are also one of those lucky bastards xD

That. Mars and/or Saturn. After the first couple, you can probably consider the subject "we".
