Curious about the アリ there, what I got from a quick search is that it's used to indicate a situation, case, event, pretty much this:
現代的省略語です。
お喋りの時など意外には使いません。品位の低い言葉ですから。
「アリ」は「あり得る」の省略形。
「別れるのはアリですか?」は「別れる場合もあり得ますか?」
「下ネタを言うのはアリですか」は「下ネタを言う場合があり得ますか」
「一人ボウリングはアリですよ」は、対戦形式が一般的なボーリング競技を「一人で楽しむ場合もあり得ます」
So I understand 新しい場所を開拓するのもアリだしぃ (literally) as something along the lines of "there are also cases where you discover a new place"
