Having trouble with a bubble in page 13 of https://e-hentai.org/s/7a2f089aac/820837-13 It's the handwritten one.

Looks like she's saying "ふう 力ぬそ♡” or ”ふう カぬそ♡".

I can't seem to make sense of either. Is it some super-slang or a weird dialect? Going dictionary diving it could mean "Hmm, not so strong". But I really doubt that's it.

Of course. I saw the い and て merged into one character.

Thank you.

Run into an odd one here: https://e-hentai.org/s/a31a14b9d7/842197-7

Asuka and Rei say 連れない and 釣れない respectively. Now I know つれない means to be heartless, which would make a lot of sense in this context. But does anyone know what's up with the kanji? "Not taking a person with you" and "Not being able to fish" don't really make sense.

I just don't want to go with my gut and find out the kanji were used for a reason other than stylistic reasons.

I'm guessing it's just ateji, but I've not seen it used like this before. Usually ateji takes the form of abnormal furigana, I've found.

I'm guessing the second one is supposed to be based on 釣られる's alluring/attracting nuance? So from the context it seems Asuka is saying it's rude he's leaving without them and Rei is saying it's, well, "unattractive behavior" for lack of better phrasing. The 当て字 look intentional.

Cheers.

I ended up coming to a similar conclusion and went for
Asuka: "How selfish... Don't go hiding on your sisters"
Rei: "How cruel"

I'm translating this
https://e-hentai.org/s/b860baf214/956254-264
in which the girl uses heavily outdated Japanese. Would it be better if I attempted to make it sound ancient, or not bother at all? I managed to make some sentences sound sufficiently ancient, but I'm bound to slip up now and then. If I end up doing the former, is there anyone who could provide input on it?

I didn't read it, but you should make it sound old which is more fun, and it's not as much trouble as you think. Translate it into regular English and then pull out a thesaurus and make another draft where she uses old fashioned words.

Stereotypical Old English is easier than you'd think, since the modern image of old English is heavily influenced by King James.

If you want to look smart while doing so, learn the proper difference between "Thou" and "You" in Old English. Or get people yelling at you that you've made a mistake because more people don't actually know the difference.

Thank you for the input. I'll try my best to make it sound as genuine as possible, and perhaps ask for verification here if anyone is free to do so.

(As for thou and you, that's one of the things I do know, but I'm not so sure about other minor things. But this magazine has plenty of idiosyncratic speech patterns, and I plan to do all of it eventually, so I can't let that stop me.)
