That makes sense, I should have followed the kanji there, the dictionary led me astray. The fact that he was burning her pants around where her pocket might be also led me to buy into the "money" theory.

Yeah, that seems to be about right.

鼻にくる means something really affects your nose. It hits you right in the nose. For example, eating something spicy. Or, in this case, I am guessing, pollen.

I'm guessing that's meant to be のぼせあがった, which is basically going mad or losing oneself in something.

Here's my best guess, more context (who's thinking it, in which situation) might change it:

"That I, who with my usual looks and personality couldn't dream of even being (her?) friend..."
"...could get this kind of special treatment, just by lengthening my hair and eyelashes a little..."

A bit of a correction to the first part:
"I have average looks and an average personality, and unlike my friends, I don't have any major interests..."

You'd have to modify the beginning of the second part to "That someone like me could get" because it is really difficult to translate the first part with the exact same structure without it sounding totally awkward. (My best effort is "That someone like me, who is has average looks and personality, who has no major interests, unlike my friends...")
