Funnily enough, about half a day after my post I suddenly thought about using "someone who's been through a lot" for 苦労人, before reading the answers here. Guess that's what I get for translating tired late at night. And yeah, I never even searched for just 苦労, which would have made things easier. (Also, thanks for the person who PM'd me for their opinion on that one.)

Many variations and/or shorts for something around "と" there though, examples for "as" are here.

as : 私は彼を敵とみなす。(I regard him as an enemy.)

本日の会議は中止とします。(The meeting will be suspended today.)
The sentence doesn't include "as" though, technically it means like "～ will be treated as ～".

The one on the right is talking about ejaculating, over and over. I'd try: "There! I'm cumming! It's all spurting out!"

You get at most one word per character. Many/most words are made up of more than one character. Of course, when translating a word/concept into another language, it might end up as more than one word. There is usually no space character between Japanese words.
