I have a quick question. Is there much difference between "uaa~" and "uwaa~"? So far I've been treating them as interchangeable. QUOTE(benjiotaku @ May 31 2015, 10:46) Hello again. Could anyone translate into english this part??? What's the context? It seems weird for it to start with ん. This post has been edited by bearsridingdolphins: May 31 2015, 21:34

It depends on context but "uwaa~" is typically used to indicate surprise and "uaa~" is used for moans. This post has been edited by Dammon: May 31 2015, 22:28

What's the significance of spaces in the text? Like here, in the leftmost word bubble in the third panel. I'm assuming they're similar to ellipses? This post has been edited by bearsridingdolphins: Jun 2 2015, 02:41

I'm pretty sure they're just mean to emphasize the subject's [her fanny's] visibility. There are already ellipses on the boxes I'm looking at, anyway.

Since the author doesn't use 句点(ideographic full stop) in the ends of lines, he uses space instead of 読点(ideographic comma) also.

Alright, I have a better idea of what to do there, now. Thanks! EDIT: ... I'm really sorry for abusing your hospitality like this, but I asked native Japanese speakers and even they didn't know what was going on with this line, so I have to ask here. Context (from the same page as the previous one I requested help with): two people suddenly walk in mid-conversation. A: そしたらあいつ犬のおソパだとよ。 B: あははは I know B's line is laughter, that's obvious. But I'm not sure what's going on with the word(s) 犬のおソパ. This post has been edited by bearsridingdolphins: Jun 2 2015, 15:57

To be a bit more precise: - "三色" (三色同順) is a form in mahjong where you have the same suit in all three colors, - "ドラ3" means you have 3 "dora" in your hand, which are tiles that basically multiply the value of your hand by two each, - "12000は12600" means that her hand is worth 12000, but because there are two "tsumi-bou" on the table, her hand is worth 600 more. QUOTE(KirbyDances @ Jun 2 2015, 15:21) Oh my god, I'm an idiot... Thanks for the URL as well, I'm not sure I would have found it even with the corrected text. So essentially, person A is telling a joke (hence person B's laughter). So I could just replace the original joke with any old joke in English (since it doesn't really have much baring on the story), maybe with a translator's note stating the original joke at the end. Incidentally, could it be that よ is a contraction of the presumptive form of the verb 言う? (Never mind this, I am a moron) This post has been edited by bearsridingdolphins: Jun 3 2015, 00:55

Hey, I've always had trouble deciphering what people are saying when they talk with their mouths full, and I've come upon such a case. Does anyone know what she's saying in the bottom right panel? Didn't her mother teach her not to talk with her mouth full of dick!? Thank you!
