I have a backlogged editing job almost ready for release, but our translator is AWOL and is not answering the final few minor questions from the editor. Perhaps someone could take a look at https://forums.e-hentai.org/index.php?s=&am...t&p=3509080 and help us out?

The last two from that post:

I went with (...Well, I'm already wet so I’m ready for it!) if that's not ok any idea? seems to match the art and flow though.

I don't mind taking a look, but I'm kind of confused by everything that's going on in that thread. Shoot me a PM with a link to the doujin, the script, and the questions.

Whoops! jfji552 beat me to the punch! (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

My offer is still open if there were other questions on that page.

Could use some help with a bubble in an Urusei Yatsura doujin. I've attached the whole panel below. Ataru has just been shocked by Lum to prevent him from leaving the house.

Attached Image

In the upper left half of Ataru's bubble, I'm not sure if this is some sort of reference to something? Thanks for any help!

超高校級 is a reference to Danganronpa, more precisely "beyond highschool standard", but effectly a fancy way to say "super", like "über"

Thanks Miralisque, though I'm really more concerned with who "Kuroiwa-sensei" might be. I'm wondering if this is some sort of dated reference; Urusei Yatsura is pretty old, after all.

Big Magnum Kuroiwa Sensei? That was about the same time period, though admittedly I don't know what it's about.

I would agree for どうでもいい, but she says よくなってきて (s.th/s.o. is getting/will get better) instead of just いい. So are we really still talking about the idiom: "I don't care", does she say something more literal like: "No matter what, I have to get better...". Well but I think here I mixed up どうしてでも and どうでも which appears <only> in the idiom... ?

"なってきて" just means "becoming".
So, N04h translated it as "anymore".

Looking for help on something on this page:
Attached Image

In the third panel the guy says: "今日はダムダルの再放送があるから…"

Any idea what show "ダムダル" is a reference to? For background, the guy is a figure collecting maniac. My tentative guess is "Gundam" but I'm really not sure.

The thing is, mangaka are tend to change name a little when it come to famous brand names or similar, be it illegal or not. For example
In No game no life (ノーゲーム・ノーライフ) Manga, Amazon.com became Anazon (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
(This was a very fun joke, so I still remember it even now (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) )
Gintama is a manga dedicated to this kind of jokes, so don't even bothers counting the wrong title/brand names (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
... and many other using McDonald's(マック), Lawson(ローソン), etc... that I don't recall from where right now.

So if you believe it's a Gundam reference, then either go for it or change to Gundarn, Gundal, Gundaru... you call.

you're probably correct but you can just leave it as Damudaru.

@kumosu, N04h
Thanks for the suggestions.

Since I'm not confident enough to know for certain, I'll go with what N04h said.

Hey there, guys! I've got a couple quick questions about a few of lines that I'm having trouble with.

This girl says that she was caught shoplifting, and that this happened to her:

親と先公から総攻撃くらったよ。

Is it saying that she received "先攻撃" from the teachers? I've looked that word up in a dictionary, but it says that it means a general attack; general offensive. I'm not sure what that's supposed to mean in this context. Is it like a referral or something?

At a different part of the story, she and a different girl are waiting at night for something to happen, and she says:

ビビんなよ

I'm not sure what "ビビ" means here.

There are a couple other lines from a different story that I'm having trouble with, and I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me what they say.

向こうから迫れたとはいえ

and

アンタにとって不本意だろうが ただ...とは言わんその代わりに

I understand parts of those sentences, but as a whole they're just confusing me for some reason.

総攻撃 means getting yelled at/told off

ビビんなよ or ビビる means to freak out adding んなよ makes it 'don't freak out'

(IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) ?? Are you using machine translation or is that a mistyping?

親 mean parents, 先公 is a slang word for Teachers, 総攻撃 mean a combine attack, but 攻撃 has many, many, many different meaning when translating to English, and in this case mean criticized, yelled at by her parents and teacher.

QUOTE

At a different part of the story, she and a different girl are waiting at night for something to happen, and she says:

ビビんなよ

ビビる mean nervous, get cold feet, so I can assuming that she tells the different girl to not freak out or not chicken out now.

See how I pick up the meaning of words up there? One page, part of a script, link to the Manga, even a short description... they are all important information for us to determined how to translate those sentences.

So if you gave us nothings, we are pretty much in blind here, and I'd rather not give you the general meaning, or it won't be different from machine translatorium (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
