Another than a few touch ups on the English, what's the verdict? That is just painful I'm not familar with how people translate Touhou in general but literally just tagging on "daze" for ~だぜ is awful and ugly and shouldn't be done >the screen suddenly became a blur I can't think of any standard term for the "snowstorm" you get with no reception on analog TVs but blur isn't even >it's always like this it'll work if you hit it Not exactly wrong but not great, "Don't worry, this always happens. A little hit should fix it up" >get working! ... >let's ask nitori if it's about electric daze More naturally stated, "We should ask Nitori for help with electronic/technical stuff" >crap about sushi and mochi Can't really think of a good way to translate this part on the spot (Marisa is misusing the expression 'mochi wa mochiya' replacing mochi with sushi, but ya(屋) is not a literal house, it's an occupation/shop but you can't keep that ambiguity translating to English) Translating it literally wouldn't lose too much, "Sushi is best from a sushi shop" "It's ' Mochi is best from a mochi shop'" "I guess you could say that too" Unless you really don't mind having to pretty much rewrite the entire script... People just shouldn't translate into languages they're clearly not competent in This post has been edited by paradeigma: May 18 2014, 02:11

Eh, I think that's widely used and nobody complains about it (though I've been away from the Touhou scene for years). QUOTE(paradeigma @ May 17 2014, 20:10) >the screen suddenly became a blur I can't think of any standard term for the "snowstorm" you get with no reception on analog TVs but blur isn't even
People normally call that static or white noise.

Translator missed a line. Or couldn't read it, script just says (???). The line afterwards is totally random too, "And the way you make cup ramen isn’t bad either!" This post has been edited by Marien : May 18 2014, 07:50

Should check with him again.

Awesome, thanks. I think I can work something out with that.

Heh, don't know about translators but that's something editors go through. Makes the job much more fun in my opinion.

I was under the impression that this was a thread for people to ask for help (i.e. in understanding things), not to get random things translated for them. Nor would just a translation help in your case anyway, [ dic.pixiv.net] http://dic.pixiv.net/a/%E6%B7%B1%E5%A4%9C%...%8B%9D%E8%B2%A0

Well I am back again for more help if that's okay. I only have 2 bubbles left before this translation is finished and one of them is gibberish to me, and the other one I am not sure about the phrasing or if I am even translating it right. This is the one I think I understand. Is it okay to translate it to "Even though we’ve been married for a day that’s still over the line"? Is it a fairly correct translation and if so, is there a better way to phrase it? The second one is this: I can only make out a few words but I don't understand how they are related to each other and/or how to phrase it. He has fantasized about doing ecchi things with her during the thee volumes but thought that he would never do it? Is he breaking the fourth wall? I just don't get how to phrase it. I'd be glad if someone could help since these are the last things left.

You've got the first one almost backwards, "いくらなんでも that's asking for too much for the first day of marriage/our married life, isn't it (←だよなぁ), " (I can't think of a nice way to word いくらなんでも without nice context) いつも妄想してたHな小野寺シリーズ第3弾がまさか実現するとは (unfinished sentence, would be filled in with something like 信じられないな) (I can't believe that) the third volume of いつも妄想してたHな小野寺シリーズ (I assume this is describing the series itself, "me-always-fantasising-about-ecchi-Onodera-Series" sounds dumb but whatever) is actually going to get published This post has been edited by paradeigma: May 21 2014, 22:12

There's a line that several translators couldn't agree on for its meaning. Was wondering how you would translate it. From this page, first panel, 2nd bubble, 3rd section: 棗(なつめ)部長に頼まれた買い物でもあるのに~ Thanks paradeigma! I interpreted it along those lines, but a far more experienced TLor had a different view so I felt uncertain. This post has been edited by freudia: May 21 2014, 23:50

OK thanks for the help. The second bubble doesn't make any sense with your translation though. The doujin is called "Kosaki-chan to H na Shinkon Seikatsu ~Soap Play Hen~" and it looks like the first doujin about Onodera he has released. The exact page is here: E-Hentai link. Oh and one more thing, just to confirm. On page number 6 he says "あfそ9えr hvぽJふじこ". That's just gibberish, right? That bubble about a third chapter or whatever keeps bugging me. Ok, yeah, I wrongly presumed that 実現 referred to a novel actually getting published (change it to "actually happening" or "come true" I guess). I don't know anything about nisekoi or if it's referring to some kind of in-joke so blah blah grain of salt but いつも妄想してたHな小野寺シリーズ第3弾がまさか実現するとは, I take いつも妄想してたHな小野寺シリーズ第3弾 to be him jokingly referring to his fantasies (not breaking the fourth wall. It looks like only two nisekoi novels have been published anyway) Maybe something like "Number three of my ecchi Onodera fantasy series is actually coming true?!" And yes, gibberish

Thanks a lot for the help. That translation makes a lot more sense. Just a billion small "ah" and "hah..." bubbles to edit, some big bubbles to fill in and some proof reading, then it's done. Again thanks for the help.
