Good call, I sent him a PM. Not sure if a bounty that lapses is automatically awarded to the claimant, or is reviewed by the "bounty moderator" (=Ten).

I think someone should step in on this, he could having computer problems himself (hence the absence), I lost out on a bounty because of that 7-days.

The "more helpful" ones linking to the site you can buy the dojin from? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I was considering this but I've actually seen someone posting a bounty just asking for links to where they can buy the books from. Although this is a small minority we can't really discount it, and it'd be unfair to label someone that's genuinely trying to help as a "retarded claimer." (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

QUOTE(lightshader @ Oct 5 2011, 23:26) *

...like this one? The guy that's trying to claim the 300-plus hath bounty posted the EXACTLY same link that was posted by someone else who tried to claim (but was subsequently rejected) the said bounty previously. Unfortunately, sekirei07's been awol for some time and thus there's a good possibility that unless something is done, the waiting period will expire and the fake bounty hunter could then force an acceptance for quick and extremely profitable reward if sekirei07 doesn't return before then.

I'm with you here, I despise people trying to take advantage of others in such an obvious way. However, it looks like everything turned out for the best. Sekirei07 came back just in the nick of time.

You bring up a good point. If logic applies to the bounty system then it should be required to be reviewed by a bounty moderator before the force acceptance gets approved. Similar to how a bounty moderator needs to review a dispute before rejecting it, that should also apply here. Instead of automatically awarding the hunter after he/she makes a force acceptance when the seven days are over, it'd be best to get a moderator to look at it first. Then again, I'm making a big assumption that logic is being applied here so I could be wrong.

Yea, but with that it could favor the claimer on a technical sense.

Example: I post a bounty for a translation and disappear for a while. Someone does translate it and stuff, but it's a really shitty translation full of bad engrish and my bounty doesn't mention anything opposing it engrish. They then could be rewarded said bounty.

If nothing else, maybe have 2+ moderators look it over first and use the best judgement, or with something like this simply have the bounty on hold until the poster returns?

Whether it favors the claimer or poster depends on the discretion of the bounty moderator. What I was talking about was simply that even if a hunter makes a force acceptance it wouldn't be automatically rewarded without having a moderator look at that force acceptance.

Having more moderators look at it might be a good idea but it can also delay the process by a significant amount depending on time zones and when they check it. Speaking of which, who are the bounty moderators anyway? Is there a list somewhere that shows all the different moderators and the positions that they hold?

I'm the bounty moderator. There's usually no more than half a dozen disputes in any given week, so there's been no point adding people to it.

3 hours ago: Because of abusive fucks, claiming a bounty now requires a 10,000C deposit. This is returned on a successful bounty, and lost if it fails.

While that will probably help cut down on abusers, that also might make things difficult for potential newcomer translators or editors.

I can see how that would be a problem. Let's say I go to claim something, it's rejected because of some stupid honest mistake, and I lose 10K (fuck that!), I say a simple 1,000C fine and/or 3-day suspension from the bounties.

But only for straight BS claims and for people making a claim with the same rejected link (that's in plain view)

Actually, 10k is fairly strong fine, somewhat worth more than 1 hath and could easily wipe out any newbie' credit totals (especially for those new to HentaiVerse) - so it's good incentive to prevent abuse. However, I think it would be best to be applied only for lower ranks like unranked + D and below.

C and higher, their fees would be reduced by half.

The bounty poster rejects the claim, right? Would it be possible to make a type/reason for reject, sort of like the expunge reason? (If there's only two options, though, I guess you could just make an extra button.) Then, something that to all appearances is an earnest attempt could be rejected with no penalty, while the obvious jackasses could be dealt with appropriately.

It's kinda funny, but i'm sorta pleased with that 10K deposit. It's one of those thing that should've been put in months ago.

I think all rejections are reviewed by Ten, so I would not expect much abuse the other way.

I wouldn't have added it if it my inbox didn't look like this yesterday.

And in case of an honest mistake or in the rare cases where a bounty is rejected over something I wouldn't consider "abusive", I'd probably return the deposit manually.

LOL, but still, could you make the 10k go to the bounty poster? This way, the poster gets paid for having his time wasted and it could be refunded to the claimer if there was an honest mistake or some other situation.

I have revised the wording of my bounties a little. Here they are:

1) translation

Translate the linked gallery into English. This is a translation-only bounty, a separate bounty will be posted for editing job after the translation bounty is completed.

This translation includes credit pages. Broken Engrish craplation will not be accepted.

This is my n-th individual translation bounty and the release will be under an [EHCOVE] group tag. You will be credited for your work on a credit page unless you want to be anonymous.

Gallery link:

If you want to take up the bounty, 1) accept it here, 2) PM me and 3) post in the relevant forum thread (which has more details on the bounty): https://forums.e-hentai.org/index.php?showtopic=51000

Once you've done so, the bounty will be reserved for you, however, if the translation is not completed within 2-3 weeks and you are unresponsive, it will be considered stalled/dropped and other translators will be allowed to work on it.

Ignore the carriers listed, you should post the translation in the forums so we can discuss/proofread it collaboratively if needed.

2) editing

Script: forum link

Please see the proofreading notes below the script.

Gallery: gallery link

Make sure to download the highest resolution possible through the archive if the gallery is resized!

If you want to take the editing bounty up, 1) please accept it here, 2) post in the forums and 3) PM if you want to edit it.

The release will be under an [EHCOVE] group tag. You will be credited for your work on a credit page that you should make unless you want to be anonymous. You should also credit the translator (unless they want to be anonymous), myself, other sponsors, note this is an [EHCOVE] release, link to our (e-hentai.org) site and forums, and lastly, tell everybody that they too can use the bounty system to get their work translated. See translation thread for examples of credit pages.

When you are done, make the archive downloadable for me (DO NOT upload it to the galleries, I'll do that).
