ah ok that's because i never noticed it... i always use deprecating spells to get it proc when they are on the verge of death

I just reset my abilities for maging and I'm now an all powerful god. A round in a crude item on normal level that would take 20-30 turns to clear with melee and a high overcharge now takes 3-4 turns using Thunderstorm, so I take much less damage and much less time. This is despite the fact that my staff proficiency (75) and elemental proficiency (62) are both low and the fact that I'm using random mix of whatever cloth armour I had lying around.

While I can tear throw large crowds, I'm rubbish against the bosses. I just tried Endgame and got to the final round effortlessly without using any items, but against the boss I couldn't seem to do any significant damage using the Ball Lightening spell and eventually ran out of mana potions with half his energy still remaining. Is there anything I can do or will I just have to wait until I my proficiency increases and I have some decent armour?

Also, I'll be getting Arcane Meditation unlocked soon. Do I want that in my autocast slot?

You cant auto arcane, but each cast lasts like 200 turns (300 on channeling). Arcane halps alot.

I had your issue with bosses when i first started as a mage, but yeah just let your profs catch up and try a tier 3 spell. I use Flames of Loki and I can kill bosses in 3-5 shots now.

That auto-cast slot is completely useless and I can't find anything to put in it. Good to hear that Arcane Meditation does at least last a while.

I'll give the tier 3 fire spells a try. I also need some decent armour, but my armour fund is currently only 150,000 credits and I got outbid on everything up for auction. I'll wait until I have 300,000 and then create a WTB thread. I think I should have kept with melee a bit longer because I'm now losing 3000 a day on the arena (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

If you are a melee character, auto cast is like 1 of the best hath perk you can get. Even for a a mage its useful just not as much.

What do you put in your auto-cast slot when maging?

Shadow veil

get SV and then haste on auto if you already have decent support prof.

if not just get shield on auto to help with prof grinding.

Is filling up all of your mp tank abilities worth it? Since basically every form of mp regen now works only on base mp, the only real bonus is a slightly higher starting stock of mp, which doesn't seem very efficient considering how easily a mage goes through mp.

yes, it is still worth it since spell cost are also based on base mp...

remember 3% of your base mp per ability level

What armour do I want? Prior to the update it seems that I wanted Fine Phase Experimentalist armour to boost my electrical abilities. However, from what I've been reading it sounds like high evade Fine Silk Cheetah armour is more what I want.

why would you want to sacrifice damage for extra evade?
If you can kill mobs in 1 or maybe 2 spells, you don't need evade

I dunno. That's just the impression I got reading the 0.5 update thread after the changes to Phase armour.

Besides, I liked the idea that silk armour was much cheaper and more readily available (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

If you want high evade silk , go for the ones with the fleet suffixes.
I don't recommend a complete fleet set as a mage.

Depends on what you are after.

maybe but he wanted high evade cheeta, but silk fleet has potentially higher evade

If there's one res monster, my divine will be almost useless.
t's hart to get experience and prof, I can't defeat enemy at normal LV90 arena...
I don't have the enough AP to get 2 or more kinds of spells. Don't have the experience and equipments to begin a fighter life at this level= =

simple, raise your proficiencies and use 2 different elemental spells. Ditch your elemental rating skills and save out 10 ap

But I need divine prof to defeat yuki- -
Her elemental resist is doubled too.
It's impossible to get divine and elemental at same time...

If I change all my equips to fox, I must set the difficulty to cake.
