is this right?

From my own experience it depends on the enemy's MP bar- If it's next to 0 i only get minor amounts (3-6) but on anything with around half MP bar I get around 10-13. Uncommon monsters gives slightly more to me though. Never met a Legendary (Except in RoB) so for thous I couldn't say.

Quite a useful thread I must say (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) A lot of temptation for me to switch to mage.

Here's one question of my own:
How useful is the HP tank ability for a mage? If I reset my skilltree and say, removed half of my HP tanks, would not having that chunk of HP be a big problem? I think it'd be better if I maxed my elemental trees first.

it's not the most essential ability, but it's recommended to get it. Because you are less likely to die from monsters who resists/evades your spells.

I'm slowly preparing for the switch hehe. I'm gonna bring my int up to par, then probably switch when I hit 60, so I can put the extra aura point to use on some sort of magey-type aura.

I've been montaging staves for a while, even before my 1 month vacation, and training my elemental prof with 1 AP spent on fireball lol. Currently sitting on 37.63 staff and 40.44 elemental prof. I hope that's enough to make a dent with my AOEs when I decide to switch. I remember quickly trying to play as a mage before I left and I was doing about 100-200 damage per AOE. Then again, I had nearly zero prof and my int was also pathetically low.


Another quick question:

Is this the right type of staff to start out with? Or do I have the wrong idea?

i'd also like to know, what kinda of staff a low level like me should be look for

most recommend focus staff like tthat, due to the m. accuracy bonus, however i was given a btter non focus staff, so im using that (although i miss somewhat often using t-storm)

Mana leached is based on the mobs MP. so it will change depending on the mob and the mobs level.

at low levels, some focus staff to make up for the lack of magic accuracy...

also other than the accuracy bonus by staff, what stat raise m.accuracy?

what does deprec and supportive profficiency do/?

Until the benefits of a damage staff outweigh the benefits of an accuracy one. It would depend on your other equipment, your playing style, and your stat distribution. It would also depend on the quality of the staffs in question.

They raise the duration and in some cases, the power of deprecating and supportive spells.

Reached 60 today and switched over to a mage build. Apparently my equipment is garbage, but that didn't stop me from clearing the level 60 arena in record time with half the items. Can't exactly one-hit clear rounds yet, but there's still plenty of room to improve I suppose.



Maybe I should put up a WTB post for elementalist gear, which I assume I should be wearing at this level. I only have 2 pieces equiped, and they're level 23 and 17 and only give about 5 proficiency each (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif)

Thunderstorm, but I think you should wait until level 50 until you get access to meteor. I find myself spamming meteor more often than using the tier 1 AOEs. Of course, I lose more mana to AOEs this way, but I also save more mana from finishing rounds faster (less heals, less rebuffs)
