recently i developed a habit of sleeping for some hours but wake up for a short period of time before falling asleep again. i wonder if that's strange or should i go see a doctor for it.
Waking up for short periods is somewhat normal.
However, this can be a sign of sleep apnea (relatively common nowadays)
If it starts bothering you (heart pain / problems keeping awake / if you are missing sleep) then I do recommend you see a doctor.
One easy way to check if you are getting enough sleep is by doing a simple test:-
Get a tray, a spoon and a stopwatch. Lie in bed and hold the spoon over the tray, turn on your stopwatch, and attempt to sleep. Your muscles should relax when falling asleep, causing the spoon to hit the tray and waking you up.
Its a easy way to test if you are lacking sleep. (The shorter it takes for you to fall asleep, the more likely you are lacking sleep)
Speaking as someone with sleep issues. Hope this helps
