I think if people who upload real porn see that it's being expunged as garbage then they'll eventually give up putting it here. And if it's their only source of GP income then maybe they'll want to think about donating to get GP and hath from the adopt-a-servers or maybe donate to get a star so they can get credits. It could actually be a good thing.

You expect a generation of users (or at least a considerable number of users) who are used to getting things for free and being able to get rewards without any direct monetary investment to PAY to use certain functions of this site? (I'm referencing the general population of uploaders, not just the real porn uploaders).

They can still look at porn for free. I was talking about the people who rely on their misc real porn galleries for GP.

And anyway, a lot of them mooch off this place enough. I'm sure more than a few of them can give back to the site to keep it running, WTF.

I read your post in full detail. If they lose their primary source of GP income and they fail to find another way to get other content, they only have one option* if they want to use the doggiebag, or buy hath, buy equipment/items or train skills in the hentaiverse, and that would be to donate or to buy an adopt-a-server slot.

*Assuming they cannot or do not want to run a H@H server for whatever reason.

Why doesn't Tenboro add a "petition to re-categorize gallery" option. Then we could use blade's guerrilla war to change the real porn to misc and everyone can turn it off if they want.

Because that is a form of copyright violation that can't be justified by unavailability of the product which is one of the only valid ones.

You don't have to be completely nude to show off the naughty bits, you know. Anyway, I think we should keep all the cosplay galleries, nude or not; they're just as relevant to the site as Non-H.

I really don't see what all the fuss is about. All it takes is a couple clicks in my settings and all the Real Porn is hidden for me... :-X
But I like having the option every now and then to look at real stuff. Not that I would, but it's nice knowing it's there.

Interesting. I didn't know sites like that existed. Once I found this site, all of my hentai needs were fulfilled so I stopped looking.

My 2c, and I'm sure I'll get violated mercilessly for wading in, given that I pretty much amount to 'the enemy', but my interest was piqued after I saw that someone had started tagging every single real porn post with an expunge request:

I only have a passing interest in hentai occasionally, and I wouldn't be running HATH to the tune of nearly 1m views/2w (first host) + 120k views/2d (second host just added) - a contribution which is content agnostic and benefits everyone - if it wasn't for the content which seems to irk you so.

Perhaps it would be better to marshal yourselves behind the middle ground solution that has been suggested and recategorise the real porn that isn't correctly placed into misc (or perhaps, a real porn category?) and start penalising users who upload into the wrong category (if the site doesn't already?). Then you could make it all go away by simply unchecking the category in your settings as has been pointed out. It's going to be much more of an uphill struggle for you to wage war on the real porn camp than it is to simply engender an environment of tagging the stuff correctly in the first place.

I don't really see why it's so offensive, unless you have borderline OCD about compartmentalising your adult content - I know it's cliché but there are much worse things more worthy of you getting worked up over. There's plenty of subsections of hentai that might not be your cup of tea, how long until there's a groundswell movement for some reason and someone comes for them too?

Edit: Asian Porn used to be called "Real Porn" and had both asian and non-asian content. After a scuff with fat and ugly people tenboro had the non asians moved to misc and Real Porn reclassified to Asian Porn.

Which reminds me that I'm still a fan of the "imageset posted as misc" "misc posted as imageset" expunge. The proper tagging acts more quickly, but it's nice to give a smack to repeat offenders.
