I would like Tenboro to give us back our full garbage expunge power. And I'd also like him to help us with this.

Both, sadly, are highly unlikely, but we're off to a good roll, we should be able to clear all this in 3-4 months without any real trouble, assuming no arguments or rage-quitting.

Certain people in that new thread are pissing me the fuck off. It's like the nightmare of the original Re-Up thread all over again. I'll just stick to expunging the shit as it comes through on the main page every once in a while like I do with the dupes.

Rikis was right to call you on those 4 galleries. You are putting the who;e damn thing in danger. As for those 4 galleries, it is obvious that you deliberately voted "Illicit", instead of accidentally doing it while "half-asleep". You were able to kill off the other 45 galleries with your Garbage vote, but on these 4, someone either missed them or botched their vote, leaving your +21 not enough to kill the gallery, so you voted Illicit, in direct violation of Tenboro's order not to. The one gallery you didn't cheat on, was finished off by pop9.

This reckless cheating isn't needed. As I expected, Re-Up delivered 21 un-volunteered Garbage points. I suspect there's another 10-pointer there who didn't get a chance to vote, too. And then there is Forth's 18 points, who while hasn't said yes or no, just might deliver a killing blow, and is willing to wade through long lists of mostly dead galleries to find ones that slipped by. (As, obviously, blade did today.)

Worst comes to worst, if those 5 galleries had made to the SOCOM list, three days from now, and where at 82% or higher, I would have killed them off myself.

LOL. Crying about oppression on a privately owned website is pretty pathetic. This is a privately owned site, and as such the owner can dictate whatever rules he likes. His setup is such that some users have more influence than others, and he doesn't seem to care that those users have rallied enough others to this cause that they can do it.

Also, if you really cared so much about what this community does maybe you should have chimed in sometime in the last ten days before this consensus was actually reached, and maybe, just maybe, with some actual reasons why you think that real porn should be on a hentai site rather than whining about bullying.

Au contraire mon frère, I would consider "some users have more influence than others" as ultimately a construct of the forums and the runaway popularity contests that tends to happen on them. But to what capacity they can actually do something directly to the galleries however, is a construct of self moderation by the owner's design. Two different things there in my opinion though often enough mashed together as the one concept. Perhaps it is not that he doesn't really care, but that he is believing in his decision for self moderation; if it truly is the will of the users then it'll sort itself out as intended by those who started this endeavor, else wise it'll simply revert back to what it was.

Also, what if he did not notice until just now? You cannot fault him for wanting to contribute to the content of the site for whatever reason but decided to not participate in the forums; It seems to me most people that play in the Hentaiverse, upload galleries, and simply leech do not come to the forum unless something they like changes or something is broke. Maybe. I would also attribute it to the money we have donated. Is that what you see donating as? I see it as a kind of lifetime premium member type thing designed to give a few extra perks when accessing the galleries and a ton of bonuses for Hentaiverse (and some automatic resource generation for those features). Other than what was previously mentioned, a user icon signifying that you've donated, and access to a restricted subforum or two that has little going on, I am unaware of any added benefit to the user or any real entitlement. That was what I thought when I was a bronze star, that was what I thought when I was a silver star, and that is what I think as a gold star now. Even as a moderator of a limited section of this forum (and of a few other functions of the site) I do not feel that my position warrants entitlement of any kind (though the karma shield that I didn't know I had until someone tried to neg me counts I guess) outside the forums where I have legitimized authority over. (Read: you can tell me to piss off as much as you want outside the gallery forums, and even in there to a degree; happy hating to the haters. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) )

As for "donating in some way to the site's future" (rewritten to make more sense to me), theoretically a gallery that is popular enough so it receives enough ad traffic to generate $100 in ad revenue would be achieving almost the same thing as donating $100, less the cost of storage and bandwidth (negligible to a degree considering how much of both EH has). As long as that gallery is search-able and/or kept significant in some way (being posted at other sites, or being on the toplists for instance), it will continue to make money for the life of the gallery, while donating is a one time deal (though you may donate multiple times). Real porn and the argument for/against it is NOT related at all in my example, as it could refer to any kind of content such as [insert favorite content here]. If a single user continuously posts good material that is constantly popular, they themselves end up supporting the site far better than us donators both individualized and as a group.

One last semi tangential thought: if anything, H@H Adopt-a-Servers offer more benefits to the sites future than straight up donating because of the intended purpose of the servers that slots are reserved for, and that the feature/service is capable of becoming a revolving, though manually renewing, subscription. Tens for instance has probably done more good with the servers he has reserved and will end up paying more to keep them going than what his $1000+ worth of straight donating will have done (at least until the need for hath and GP subsides).

I am impressed of the kind of time, money, and other resources people put into this site. It is really mind boggling to me sometimes and often far more than I ever have done so myself in whole. However I do not think it implies nearly as much power as people take for granted.

I do apologize for going significantly off topic regarding the main subject of this thread, but I wanted to say what I thought of myself and others as direct donaters, and my view of our purpose here in that respect (barring any other contributions).
