End of an era, I guess. While I do support the ability to expunge defaced galleries, especially to deal with malicious ones with hidden ads, I can't condone people speaking ill of cgc. He has contributed countless hours and money for this community, even ignoring all his watermarked scans (which in my opinion, is still better than nothing), he has still done more for this site than myself and 99.99% of the users that uses this site. I've been lurking here for almost two decades now and I remember a time when he'd constantly upload good content, especially rare Non-H stuff most other people are simply not interested in buying and scanning. Even if he snapped at the end, it doesn't erase all the good stuff he has done.

The update wasn't to target any specific user. The reason it was done was primarily because of hiding advertisements in animated gifs, and designed to counter general intentional destruction of works beyond a point broadly. There is still the sentiment of "it's better than nothing", and that is why they were not expungable for a long time, because expunged galleries could be deleted. That isn't the case anymore, so the best way of taking it isn't losing content, merely delisting it from default searches - which I think is more than reasonable. They are still searchable with the advanced search options.
