Songs without lyrics are fine. I don't expect anyone to find fast vocal songs anyway, it's near impossible. I use this to check BPM: [www.all8.com] https://www.all8.com/tools/bpm.htm, very handy. Just tap to the beats. Added link to rules.

#MerryChristmas Namie Amuro - Four Seasons

It's about all four seasons and has a really calm soothing feel to it, though it is a little sad. Christmas is really cozy so I think a really calm soothing song has a good fit to it. The song plays in the ED of Inuyasha: Swords of an Honorable Ruler Movie (though that's not where I found it like 18 years ago).

I don't listen to a lot of Japanese Christmas music... I mostly stick to the Western classics when it comes to that.

The 5 min requirement is really killing me here cause the one I really wanted to use was only 3 minutes long. But I think this is a good one. Definitely a journey. I honestly highly recommend Alan's debut album Voice of Earth in general. It's incredible. Literally the whole album.

I don't fully understand the rules if one singular song should be able to make it through all New Years rounds or if there's multiple submissions for New Years so I'm going with the latter...

This one is a bonus. It's only 3 minutes something and doesn't feel very New Yearsy but as far as journeys and multiple vocalists go it's pretty nuts, especially if you turn on the subtitles to see the lyrics: U.N.Owen was her? And Then There Were None

#HappyNewYear Bad Apple. It's probably the only one that compares to the bonus above - make sure you enable subtitles to see the lyrics. The video quality is atrocious but it's hard to find the proper video with the lyrics.

And I have another 3 minute something bonus. This one isn't otaku culture but it has one of the most insane sudden changes (at around 1:40) and Vitas I swear has the voice of a straight up angel - Vitas - Lucia di Lammermoor.

I can't really do round 4. I don't think I have just about any music at all longer than 7 minutes other than classical, well alone otaku stuffs.

Same tbh, but the classics are already overplayed to the point I'm sick of them already. Also I notice that my taste in Western music most of the time doesn't align with most people and I mostly listen to otaku music anyway.

There are multiple submissions for New Year stage. But it's locked to one per round, and the rounds are locked to certain time periods. Throughout the entire month, you are expected to submit 5 songs to get the most out of NY stage.

Classical is something really hit or miss for me, most of the time is miss.


You should take a quick look through other submissions to get a feel of what and how to submit. Currently it's round 3 and the round requirement is multiple singers (with the implication that each has somewhat similar importance/presence throughout the song). Now, your first song is an instant disqualify, so is Bad Apple. I mean, if in the artist field it's not at least 2 people, it's a quick ticket out. The 2nd song, yes, does have 2 vocals but it's pretty obvious that only one is the main singer and the other is just harmonizing background vocal, so it's also out.

A bit about the values I personally expect from participants when I do giveaways: High patience, can spare some efforts to read through a long amount of (possibly technical) text, and comprehension of somewhat complex mechanisms (though not entirely required). That's why in the past I gave some extra prizes to people who I deemed to deserve those, despite them not getting the prizes as per the rules.
For this giveaway, I only put the tl;dr version of the rules and the timers because I know a lot of people can't be bothered to read through all the rules (despite me making the prizes very worth their time if they actually try). I might as well remove the timers in the future since I personally don't really take care of that part much and it might result in confusion.
Sorry if this comes off as a rant, but it's a bit tiring to see some posts that outright failed the most basics of the administrative part of the rules (song length, account age).

This giveaway was the first of its type I held so it's quite experimental with a lot of changes made throughout the event. In the future, the rules should be more stable and you can just stock up all the songs since the start and post when the respective rounds come up. Though I'm thinking of rotating between music, hentai, treasure hunt types instead to keep it fresh.
