Submission guideline

You will be submitting songs.

Valid Entries
1.1 - Only one song will be accepted for each round. Feel free to post multiple, but only the first one will be accepted.
1.2 - Please use any public link that I can access without signing up, preferably Youtube. Spotify and nico nico douga are fine too.
1.3 - Only otaku culture music. This is a very broad definition. Some examples (but not limited to)
Accepted:
- Music used in anime (can be bgm or theme songs)
- Visual novel music
- Light novel promotion singles
- Songs by Japanese artists who did a lot of anime music
- Songs used in certain popular rhythm games (Ongeki, SDVX, etc.)
- Vocaloid
- And more...
- No vtubers pls no, this rule is real, I'm not joking, pls take note
Use your own judgement to see what would be accepted.
1.4 - If applicable, always use the original version. Random covers/arrangements won't be accepted if there's an original readily available. Don't test the boundary and stick to some safe picks.
1.5 - Submissions have to be base songs, not songs put on repeat. Submitting a 1 hour non stop youtube meme will disqualify you from all rounds.

X-mas Stage
a.1 - Your song has to make me think of winter when I listen to it. Tips: any X-mas songs songs with X-mas themed sound design (this is very different from X-mas songs) will easily pass, or just pick something with a bunch of jingle bell sounds.
a.2 - Mark your submission with #MerryChristmas.
a.3 - Direct covers of popular Xmas songs are not counted, according to rule 1.4.

New Year Stage
b.1 - Round 1: Your song has to be longer than 5 minutes. It has to develop through the verses and choruses, then, for the lack of better words, reach an epic outro. Listening to this song should feel like going through a journey. Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5K0rx7GiJyI
b.2 - Round 2: Your song has to be longer than 5 minutes and have an ascending sequential modulation (key change up) in the last chorus. [youtu.be] It sounds like this, in the cheesiest song of all time.
b.3 - Round 3: Your song has to be longer than 5 minutes and be at least a duet (2+ singers). Choirs not accepted.
b.4 - Round Ex: You are to submit two songs for this round, both of them longer than 7 minutes. One song should be slow, one should be fast. Ideally, the first song slower than 110BPM, the second song faster than 200BPM. If you don't know what this means, it means damn slow and damn fast. You can use this link to find a song's BPM: [www.all8.com] https://www.all8.com/tools/bpm.htm. Just tap to the beats.
b.4II - Your winning split for round Ex will scale with the gap between the tempo of your 2 songs (with cap, details below). That means for the first song, it should be as slow as possible, for the 2nd song, it should be as fast as possible.
b.4III - In case of multiple tempos, the primary tempo (if determinable) will be used. If it's not possible to determine a primary tempo, I will choose one at my own judgement.
b.5 - Medleys that remix/include multiple songs are not accepted. Songs that are made up of multiple songs, but intentionally done so by the composer are excluded from this rule. Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x14TERJc8yA

Teams
2.0 - There will be more details on the purpose of teams.
2.1 - There are 4 teams: Anime, VNs, Doujin/Vocaloid/Games, Idols/Others.
2.2 - Your submission will determine what team you are in.
2.3 - Votes are only for fun.
Details
2.4 - Teams will be put against one another to compete for as much share in the team prize pool as possible.
2.5 - All participants with at least one qualified submissions in a team will split their team's winnings depending on how many qualified submissions they have.
2.6 - Team score is a weighted sum of players' scores. Player's score is determined by post count/account age/HV level/valid submission count in increasing importance. Higher is better but there's a cap.
2.7 - In case of a player's inclusion in multiple teams, the winning for that player is split according to how many times that player is in a team.
Example: If a player is in team A for round 1, team B for round 2, teams A, C for round Ex, that player gets 50% of team A split winning, 25% of team B split winning, 25% of team C split winning. On the other hand, if a player is in team C twice for round Ex, that player gets 100% of team C split winning.
Revised to be more reasonable: each valid submission in a team will give the player one lot of that team's winning.
2.8 - A team's split in the team prize pool has a diminishing growth rate.
2.8b - What this means is that joining the biggest team is not always the best move.
2.9 - The team prize pools are separate from the individual prize pool.
2.10 - Team prize pools for Xmas Stage and New Year Stage are separate.


Administrative stuff
3.1 - Posts: Off topic posts are fine but please try to keep it civil and somewhat relevant.
3.2 - Validity: Use the hashtags to mark your submissions. If the same tags are used multiple times in your posts, all of them become invalid.
3.3 - Editing posts: Posts are marked invalid if edited more than 5 minutes after posted.
3.4 - First come, first served: The same song can be submitted multiple times, but only the first poster can bring home the cash if the song manages to get a prize.
3.5 - To prevent me from being overloaded with judging all submissions after this month, I will evaluate submissions after each round (though the result will be kept private in my titanium safe and only revealed after giveaway ends).
3.6 - Gold star players are not counted in evaluations for any prizes except special/participation.
3.7 - All players with at least 1 valid entry/special prize entry will share the participation pool equally.
3.7b - The exception is gold star players who will receive one participation prize per valid submission. These prizes will come from my wallet and not the giveaway participation pool.


4.0 - I might add more rules to clarify some stuff if necessary.
5.0 - Prize pool might increase depending on how much engagement this event can get. I plan to spend around 50M on this giveaway.
6.0 - Prize pools might get rebalance patch. The expected outcome of this giveaway is to give everyone as balanced prizes as possible, unlike my past giveaways where the top winner got a massively higher prize than everyone else.
7.0 - Donations are welcomed (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) They will be added into the participation prize pool.

- Best song for each round in New Year Stage (1 for each round from 1 to 3, 2 for round Ex)

X. 202200 credits for:
- Song with lowest BPM in Round Ex
- Song with highest BPM in Round Ex
- 2 longest songs (one for slow category, one for fast category) in Round Ex

F. 222222 credits and 222 artifacts for:
- Whoever first submits the song with a secret BPM I have in mind (tip: look at the prize).
Yes, this song will disqualify one of your entries so choose wisely.
Unless there's another qualifying song that I don't know about. I guess you get a small part of the prize in that case. Maybe 222222 creds and 22 artifacts.

Nah, Hige Driver. He actually made something that was not his usual ultra hyper weird shit. Got a loli wife too, lucky guy. Shiina Gou's style has this orchestral feel to it.
The release version of Yuki no Hate ni Kimi no Na wo is so much better than the movie version. I was actually disappointed when I watched the movie (only watched it 2 months ago), expecting the full song to come up. Outro had no percussions jesus fuck. Maybe the drum guy didn't go to the studio that day. The entire last 45 seconds as well, not found in the movie version.
