The democrat party is looking for demarcated reasons to shift blame onto as a way of protecting their votes lead for November's general elections. For the group of young voters, an emerging topic is to blame Boomers (not Biden) as the reason why the economy is bad for those young people for getting cars and owning a home.
Well, that is partially true. Millennials, etc. were already having trouble finding/affording this stuff before he took over.
I
do blame the party (Biden included) for doing fuck all to try to fix it so far. But boomers buying homes they don't use as 'investments' is a thing that happens.
As for cars, I actually blame regulations on the auto industry requiring all sorts of fancy technology to be road legal for driving up prices on them. Also material/supply chain issues of course. The rise of cars you can't possibly fix yourself without expensive proprietary hardware/software hasn't helped matters either.
Falling in love with my '76 volvo even more than I thought was possible, manual steering and all. mechanical injection is a little confusing, but I have some idea of how it conceptually works, and everything in the car can be physically observed. We'll see how long this honeymoon period lasts, but I appreciate the relative simplicity of the system. If only they still made more parts for them.
