Tim Walz is getting roasted, mainly because of his own lies and sketchy discharge.
He did serve as national guard, but after 9/11 was deployed to Italy. The DOD does not want to investigate because of how suspect his discharge was. People in the military have explained that the DOD's responses are technically true but only if you do not understand the system. People in the military have explained:
Walz claims he had a four year contract but broke contract after 3.5 years. The program to become a Command Sgt. Major required a six year contract (including 2 years deployed). The Command Sgt. Major track at the academy he chose was leading soldiers not an admin position, so he knew it required deployment. Previously he had been deployed to Vicenza Italy, a very nice leisurely deployment. The medical board review in 2002 cleared him when he was renewing the contract and going for Command Sgt. Major.
When it came time to deploy, govt policy had changed and they were deploying everyone to Iraq / Afghanistan. Despite stop loss policies, he was allowed to break contract early using democrat politician connections. He was ineligible to keep the training rank of Command Sgt. Major but his paper work was pushed through without his signature and was allowed to retire with the incorrect rank of Command Sgt. Major on file instead of master sergeant. It was only corrected years later because he kept talking about his rank and service in speeches and people have been complaining since like 2008.
TLDR: a. He never intended to deploy and took someone else's spot at the academy (4 year contract ineligible to keep rank) b. He dipped out when everyone found out they were deploying to war zones and abandoned his troops (6 year contract broken magically with state Dem support)
Either way it looks like he just wanted to make Command Sgt. Major for retirement benefits, when he signed the six year contract it was DoD / Govt policy for him to be deployed to Italy or Turkey. As soon as it changed he dipped and abandoned his unit before what would be a 22 month tour in Iraq.
The problem is that he has been fluffing up his service in speeches for a decade or more, he doesn't talk about the 25 years as national guard with nice deployments, he implies he served as a Command Sgt. Major in Iraq, despite ditching his unit before they deployed.

No, he needs to be realistically +6 in the polls to overcome the current shadow campaign fortification scheme unless state republicans can get off their butts and pass legislation / regulations to stop it. He was at the margin to win against Biden but "twerk out to the polls" Kamala is only 0.5 behind.
Only one state, Virginia has made moves to stop the fortification.
Fortification meta 2024: -Unregistered migrants due to Biden executive orders can get a social security to sign up for benefits. When they go to the DMV to register for benefits, they are also being registered to vote. It is illegal for them to vote, but they are already illegals, and there are no audits of who has voted so far.
TLDR: Kamala despite being slightly behind in the polls currently has the most votes already in the election, and will probably be the most popular US president like Biden.

Yeah but should I believe the polls? I know things have changed since 2016 but Trump wasn't supposed to win then either if you believed the polls.
I'm fairly certain most if not all the polls are doctored to show how [our guy] is winning, regardless of who they're favoring. People like the feeling of things going their way and momentum building. Low numbers in the polls spread defeatism which can then make those poll numbers retroactively come true.
Skamala's now plagiarizing Trump's policy of no tax on tips. He's been saying that at his rallies for months. People are leaving her rallies long before she's done speaking and there's blackout curtains hiding empty seats.
She's also copying Trump's airport rallies that he's done for years. She's making people think she made all this up herself and dolts are believing it. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif)
Now it's come out that the crowd at her airport rally is an AI fake. No reflection in the jet's paint and there's AI mistakes in the crowd. When I saw the pictures of no people in the plane's paint reflection, I started laughing so hard. Of course they're saying it's an optical illusion, they don't want you to believe your own eyes. Whenever anything starts out with "Trump falsely states..." then you know it's really true. These are the same people who said Biden was the picture of health right up until the disastrous debate.
Look how easy it is to fake a crowd. Kamala was a much hated VP even in her own party and now she's become popular, lol.

For republicans if they are winning in the polls less people turn out.
For democrats if they are winning it allows them to hide fortification. No one was going to believe if Biden won Texas.
The polls generally skew to over favor democrats slightly, as they poll mainly in urban areas. So in some polls that can be up to a 2 point difference.
The other issue in the US is like who people say they will vote for and also whether people even vote at all.
