Like the fox guy said, always treat every event as the day it could happen. At least that should be the mindset but the secret service just think its another day as usual. Thats negligence isnt it. Maybe Musk is right. If the chief of the secret service is at fault or not does not matter. He should step down anyway and take responsibility. Ron Desantis or Mike Pence were supported by the establishment party. Though it seemed like they were setting DeSantis to lose against whoever the Dems fielded.
Vivek Ramaswamy would have been the most similar to Trump but the establishment party treated him like RFK jr.

I was watching the rally and saw it happen in real-time. Trump hadn't been speaking very long and then there were the rapid popping sounds and everything happened so fast. At first I thought Trump grabbed the side of his neck before he went down. I stood up, experienced a panic attack, and thought please don't tell me those were gunshots and please don't tell me he's dead. Thank God he's OK but that really made me feel numb and depressed because this is what our country has come to. If he hadn't turned his head back toward the Jumbotron in that one second it would've been a different outcome. His quick alley cat reflexes saved him after he felt the bullet hit his ear and dropped to the floor.
