Sorry to see you go, your site made me millions of credits in just the single year I knew about it, and I'm sure more dedicated players made 10 times that.

I'm not willing to make HVMarket's code public in part because I'm aware of some flaws in it that I don't have the energy to fix right now, but also because it's just not very well managed as a project. I have not worked in the field before and I had not used many of the technologies involved before. I could offer advice and my knowledge about some of the edge cases when I've got time - the only part of the HVMarket code that might save anyone time is just knowing the branching paths in the mail system, and it's probably easier to relay that in English.

I can save a little time and advise against it for now, except in collaboration with Tenboro if an easier MoogleMail API were made accessible. The current interface is cumbersome (specifically regarding tracking CoD payments as the credit log is prone to missing entries, and the special MoogleMail sender & its functions in general) for programmer extension, and that will take time to navigate and properly test.

Later in the year I'm hoping to be back to spending more time at a desk programming. I have another project I want to work on. But if there's anything interesting going on in HV then I'll have a look at it and see if I can help.

I don't think the item return is working properly.

I received an mm "HVMarket Recall: 7 items". However, the seven items listed had previously been returned to me, and only 3 items (3 different items, 10 total) were attached to the mm. I'm guessing that those were the only 3 of those 7 that had any remaining inventory, so I probably have someone else's items.

From the list that I had jotted down, I did have 7 items that may not have been returned to me (7 different items, but a total quantity of 65).

Two things that stand out about the seven that were attempted to be returned to me. It looks like, out of the inventory that I had, they were the first 7 items that appeared in the hvmarket inventory list, and I think that they were the 7 that I had there the longest. I don't know it either of these are significant, but I suspect that the first is..

I'm content to wait for a while, and see if there are more batches of mail.

Given the circumstances, I'm happy to get anything back, but thought I'd mention it in case others were just removing the contents without checking that they actually matched what the description showed (as I did in the previous batch).

I'm still incredibly grateful for the time we had with HVMarket, and wish Nezu nothing but health and prosperity. Using shops again is SOOOO MUCH WORSE.

Please, oh wise and benevolent overlord, I would prioritize an in-game HVMarket replacement over pretty much ANY other HV update.

Yeah it seems it merely sent again what it tried to recall the first time, just that now there's some items out of stock so couldn't attach those. Mine looks like this



So maybe it will send the remaining stuffs later I guess? Pending trophies aside what I'm curious about is that I have hazy memories of having very few (1-2?) unicorn horns and energy drinks left there but if I really had only 1 of each then I guess jantch's worries about having other people's items might be true considering I got another batch with those. But again hazy memories so could be wrong, only thing I'm certain about is the number of the SG and noodly stock.

seems the return process has bugs, especially that it's sending out stuff that it has already sent out initially. I got 10 trophies that I already got last week.

But Nezu, please take care of yourself first and foremost. We'll try to sort it out within the community. This is not your problem to solve atm.


@ everyone: I think we won't be able to fix everything to perfection. When stuff is sent to the wrong account, we need their cooperation to get something returned. Plus, we don't have the ledger (the list of who owned what). So it's probably not possible to get everything corrected.

If you feel that your damage is particularly big, you could post here to ask around if someone got your stuff and is willing to return. But beware, the chance of success is low:
- a significant part of the HV community doesn't read the English forum at all
- we won't force anyone to return anything
- we don't have any way to check claims of damage

Nezu is probably reordering the unsold items by every MM we have sent to HVM, and sending those recall message accordingly. Maybe we can wait for Nezu‘s explaination.

while i advise to stick to this option (hoping nobody's being damaged in the process), i also invite to remember that Nezu is taking care of health-related things, so i invite everyone to be patient, as much as possible - out of respect for the legacy of his project.

I can confirm. I just got an HVMarket recall MM with 60 Noodlies, that I had already received (between other things) in the initial wave of recalls the 24th of March.

I lack instead 1 remaining Phazon (out of a total of 4); 3 where returned in the initial wave, but none this time, despite being listed in the MM but is not present.

But Nezu, please take care of yourself first and foremost. We'll try to sort it out within the community. This is not your problem to solve atm.

EDIT : comparing the initial MM with the one just received, I think I can formulate an hypothesis of what is the bug in the process.

It seems to me that the algorithm, after having generated (again? or just using the already previously generated one?) the list of item it shoul send back to an account, compares it to the last sent to generate the difference list (of items still to be sent), but includes in it also those lines were the difference between TO-BE-SENT and ALREADY-SENT is zero AND the following line has a positive difference, thereby sending it a second time again.
In addition, all those lines for wich there isn't items anymore in HVMarket account, are put in the MM list, but items are (obviously) not attached to it (save for the one player who gets a partial return, due to getting what is left before HVMarket exausts the said item).

As Noni said, impossible to fix without a Ledger; possibly Nezu could generate such a ledger from his database, but it would probably be a difficult and long work. I cannot see him undertaking it now, with his health problem.
