..... No none of us assume anything.

As i mention, if the admin did not ask us to post at the very beginning of this thread, it doesnt take a lot to come to the conclusion that it is NOT needed from us at this point.

Since so, it also doesnt take a lot to conclude that its the site thats giving us the problem.

who knows, we may or may not be significant enough compare to the thousand or million out there who can view it legal way or not not withstanding.

Well, pardon me if you are part of the admin and you need it to analyse.

EDIT: Oh i ended up on the first post of the page again.

Hi, I am having the same problem as the previous users.
However, I don't think this is a proxy / shared ip problem.

From what I see from my Firebug:
When loading the main page, for some reason or another, it seems to be unable to find

[g.ehgt.org] http://g.ehgt.org/css/0.14.1.css

which is presume is the stylesheet for the main page, causing the page to look weird.

Perhaps somewhere along the line, some server is serving a cached version of the old page?

That would explain the fact that many users across different countries are getting a broken page.
Of course, its just a conjuncture, and it does not explain why I keep getting page not found when I search. (Unless the new page submits the search to a different location!)

At least for my ISP (Singnet), each broadband connection _does_ have its own IP address (which i assume is unique as i can run H@H and receiving much hits daily).

The ISP uses a proxy to cache _ALL_ http requests to any server, in a bid to reduce overall bandwidth usage by serving cached pages locally (from Singnet's Cache servers directly to us end users).

So, all requests originating from my ISP would apparently be from their cache servers (220.255.*.* i think). These servers however send a X_HTTP_FORWARDED_FOR header to tag the unique IP the actual requests originated from.

A short visit to whatismyipaddress.com would correctly pick up my unique IP address (same as that in H@H settings page) while identifying that I am behind a proxy. (the 220.255.*.* server)

Perhaps Tenboro could experiment by trying to fish out unique IP addresses from the headers of these transparent proxies? I would doubt that local ISPs by default provides annonymous proxies, as it really doesn't fit the general policy of the political climate here :/

This situation is similar to that experienced by us on Rapidshare, where either they detect us as dynamic IPs (due to load-balancing between cache servers i assume) or when we force a single proxy server, someone else is already downloading (usually huge files (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif))

I believe *.ehgt.org servers have browsing limits according to ip addresses. When the limit (per IP) is reached they apparently direct all traffic to /redir.php, which is not found on those servers (404 error). That's why even CSS files, along with thumbnails and images, cannot be displayed.

First of all, X_HTTP_FORWARDED_FOR can be easily forged, so it's not possible to rely on it. Secondly, it's overwritten by the reverse proxies used by Galleries itself.

Hi, is there something i can do to check if the problem is with my router? the whole thing works for me in school, so i think making some changes to my router might help very much.

I've been having this problem for almost a month, and I've been forced to use proxy sites from here:

[www.topbits.com] http://www.topbits.com/proxy.html

to browse the galleries. The only problem is I can't download any of the archives through the sites.

Hey,its been a while since I posted here and I'm starting to think I'll be around the forums a lot more from now on,since I don't have -that-much free time.

In any case; I'm from Singapore. Used Google Chrome, Mozilla and IE, all gave me the same problem; so I ran HijackThis and here is the log, hope it helps

ok i use my roter id and no tor but have this pronlem

her is the solution that i find

first, i think the problem is not from proxy nor from tor but the problem is from the server of your regent servers

there for i start searching for site server that has no problem with e-hentai

i fine this site {hxxp://hitwonder.info/index.php} after hours of failed, it the pest (very faaaaaaaaaast)

recommendation to all if you how want e-hentai to not take you as a threat

use only Allow Cookies on the option and

don't use Encode URL Encode Page,Remove Scripts and Remove and hide id ( normally if you don't see it, it off ) option

remember ( hxxp => http )

Nice find! But hitwonder does not allow me to search the galleries.

I used www.bypassthat.com and only checked the allow cookies box and search is enabled. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

First of all, X_HTTP_FORWARDED_FOR can be easily forged, so it's not possible to rely on it. Secondly, it's overwritten by the reverse proxies used by Galleries itself.

*blink*

This is it...?

Its been a significant amount of time since my post on the last page.

We still have no real clue what is going on, just guesses. We have no real official info at all. The official stance at this point seems to be "yea we dont have this problem, tough luck".

Like i said on the last page, if this is a problem with some new update, cant you just rollback it since (apparently) entire countries cannot browse the galleries at this point.

At least give us some stuff to try, ask us to run tests, traceroutes, whatever. Work with us here.

Incidentally, proxies can be forged, so i dont get your point...are you going to ban every single proxy on the planet...?

Its even more surprising i can find no mention of this issue in the site's news reports...no "We understand some people are having issue accessing the galleries now blah blah blah".

It's not a code problem, it's not a proxy problem (as such), and it's not a country problem (as such). Singapore ISPs seem to rely heavily on proxies, and there are hostile users using the same ISPs/proxies. Seeing as there is no way to distinguish good traffic from bad traffic except by traffic source, them's the breaks. If I have to choose between losing 1% of the traffic and not keeping the site up, I choose the former.

While I have been working to minimize the problem, keep in mind that those users who register just to come and make a single "IT'S NOT WORKING" post are unlikely to report back when it does, in fact, start working.

Cant you simply report these abusive users to the ISPs? Take legal action, etc? ISPs tend to take the prospect of legal action pretty seriously. Have you at least tried to contact the ISPs that these "attacks" are coming from?

And i can confirm with the above poster that the site appears to be working now.

Oh yes, that'll make'em fly right off the internets. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Besides, the other problem with proxies is that there's currently no reliable way of tracing individual users, so what would you report, exactly?

Indeed, it's also fixed on my side again. Hopefully it doesn't go back to being screwed up.
