Around Lvl270/300, I'd totally recommend 2H if one wants to blitz through all arenas as fast as possible at Hard difficulty. That's what I was doing and it was rather satsfying, credits and time wise. Mage is doable too, but you'd need a basic Forge 5 and probably 4/5 proficiency clothes in order not to heal all the damn time.

Here is the thing I don't know. Lets say you are 270 and have half decent weapon + assorted mag/leg armor you got from the WTS 10-50k per piece. So it's something with low %, no IW, usually lower lvl than you. What difficulty you can do with 2H or 1H without any struggle? You said you did Hard to blitz through arenas but I hardly need to use cure even on Hell difficulty.

No idea, the game was a bit different back then. So let's keep it at the fact that I wouldn't be surprised if someone said he can clear arenas as Power 2H at Nintendo difficulty, Lvl300. Which was fairly, fairly impossible back then.

Yea, I tried the game at different stages as well, even the very early one. Just trying to say that general opinion about mages on forums is different from what i'm experiencing myself for the current version. For some time I though all melee easily do PFUDOR from lvl 200 just because they suppose to do much better than me.

Same can be said for the forging part.
It's cheaper to forge now (total value), bur revenue from arenas dropped...

It's just an old post to take useful info, update it, and merge with the advice.
