QUOTE(Megaton @ Mar 26 2019, 07:58) *
-Thumbnails need to stop blocking timestamps and various other information when using Compact and Minimal display for search/watched pages. This is further exasperated by the fact that the thumbnail is present no matter where your cursor is on the cell/frame? but if you want to open the gallery in a tab via Ctrl or middle mouse (at least for me) it won't work unless you are directly on the title. It's a counter intuitive design choice to say the least (I think this is being looked at?).

I wonder how often this has to be pointed out by different people to get acknowledged. This is bad UI design, plain and simple. I don' see how this could have gotten through testing without being noticed and wonder what the rationale was behind implementing it in the first place. Touch enabled devices?

I can't seem to see the "new icon" whenever there's a new doujinshi/manga update....

The page navigation table also has issues with middle clicking. Left clicking on any part of a table cell works, by middle click only works when clicking on its text. A display:block in the <a> tag instead of the onclick event seems enough to fix it.

But one CSS feature I really miss is that thumbnails will "fill in" to a row if I zoom out. With the new UI it's locked to 3-4 thumbnails per row. I often want to see more entries per row in thumbnails view so that I can "get through" pages faster. Would this be a possible setting option, or even a CSS userscript? I wish I knew CSS...

.ido {

.gld {
grid-template-columns: repeat(auto-fit, minmax(202px, 1fr));

Downgrading to the latest version that doesn't suck is an option if vulnerability issues aren't your #1 concern and you'd rather use something that just works and take care of those vulnerabilities yourself.

I know that feel. I stuck around with old Opera for as long as I possibly could but eventually switched over to Firefox since the CSS was too broken on too many sites.

This and the one mentioned above are really my 2 biggest issues with the UI changes.

- The bold timestamp really isn't visible enough in Minimal view, if it were larger, or a different color, had an asterisk next to it ... it needs something besides just font weight to distinguish it better.
- The thumbnail should follow the cursor position instead of being a fixed overlay that, as pointed out, covers relevant information.

Some great functionality here overall, though, the tag filtering means I can finally retire the old Greasemonkey filter script.

Forcing the thumbnails to follow the cursor is possible if you don't mind using an userscript for it

This script is quite laggy. I wrote a buttery smooth one here: [pastebin.com] https://pastebin.com/raw/zXfvhpq6
Though it's for minimal mode only. Not compact.

The topic https://forums.e-hentai.org/index.php?showtopic=225451 made me doubt.
I don't remember what it looked like and how it worked (damn memory), but I'm pretty sure I used to be able to see a single category (as in non-h, doujinshi, game cg...) within my favorites.
I tried adding f_cats=VALUE based on normal search, but that doesn't work either.

Is my memory really playing a trick on me, and I never searched for 1/several categories in a search in my favorites? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)

Please add a way to get the old tag functionality of little colored circles in front of the rating stars when in minimal view.
Compact has the tags highlighted but is very distracting to actually use because of all the extra lines and the tags separating the galleries.
example in the link of what im asking to be re-implemented at least as an option.

It's favcat. f_cats is for binary-flag based gallery category filtering. :)
Also, this is for "favorite categories". Please correct me if I'm mistaken but there is no way to sort by gallery category within your favorites.

Any chance we can get the little "tag" dots in "minimal" view like it used to be? You know, a "classic" version of the layout?

I'm really talking about gallery category filtering (I enumerated some in a parenthesis because I realized it may be confusing).
Once again, it may be my memory playing tricks on me, but I feel like I could apply such a filter in favorites in the past.

If it's really just my memory that is wrong, then having the gallery categories buttons in favorites and being able to use them to filter is an idea for new feature.
But if it's not my memory, then it may be a feature loss to be repaired.

@uareader: I'm afraid only Tenboro would be able to answer you on whether it was possible at some point. The closest workaround right now is to sort by colors (most likely won't suit your fav use), or DIY user-side as you add them.
