I'm not sure i understand - people requested that the thumbnail frames (which indicate the category) and the category buttons shouldn't match? Right now the frame colors are identical for vanilla and ex, but the buttons aren't.

I've also had this happen with multiple tags (with default search options - no gallery description, filenames etc.). As far as i can tell this didn't happen before, at least not with the tags i checked.

They kept complaining that the ones from the light side were too bright for the dark side. The good news is they are now controlled via CSS so you can change them to whatever you want.

Yeah, but why are they still the same for the thumbnail frames when the buttons are different? The frame colors are the same on both sites. Check the 'western' category for example - the button is brown/beige in the dark design, but the frame is bright green. The one for 'artist cg' is a dark orange while the frame is bright yellow.

The colors worked just fine before and they were easily identifiable for both versions. I just question why a feature that worked intuitively should suddenly be a problem that needs to be fixed by making said feature non-intuitive. Usually it's the other way around.

this looks ridiculous, the number for pages should be 4 digits, not 2 like now,

still has slot for 1 more digit when the pages hits thousands.

Why do My Tags not always show up for galleries? This should have a couple of tags showing but they don't appear. They will show up eventually though. But then they might vanish again as well. Happening a lot. The tags are well over 100 and they are defaulted as 10 to appear.

Are you referring to the 'New' icons?
It may need some time to get used to, but it works.

It's rather subtle, can be a somewhat hard to see as it blends in quite a bit with the un-bolded dates.

Thumbnails way too big and the icons are a bit.. different

I mean it's alright for an update but yeah..

It ain't the best.

Will you add an options in the settings to revert to the legacy layout in the near future?

It would be nice if typing "l:eng" in a search still worked the same as typing in "language:english".

What a sad and terrible waste of screen real-estate the new design is.
Same shit with the newer versions of youtube, twitch, and google chrome.
What about leaving the old space-efficient designs as a option for desktop users and give those ugly Xbox HUEG new designs for phone users only?

shorthand namespace searches no longer work. I use to use something like this "l:eng" to get english results but now I need to do this, "l:english". I like the old behavior better.

There needs to be a legacy setting, the new UI is atrocious and damn near unusable.

As an old user that has never touched the forums before this update i wanna insert my biased opinions too.

I don't like the highlighted date and time it looks stupid i want the diamonds back. I only use thumbnail mode and its not immediately recognizable to me which means its bad.

That's true, it is a bug in Safari's behavior. But it's one that's newly triggered by this code change, that won't go away on Safari's end, and that has multiple potential workarounds and fixes on e-hentai's end.

These onclick handlers don't need to exist, and only cause problems. At the very least, add a check for the event.button property in open_gallery so it doesn't trigger if button != 0; this will hack around the middle-click issue for now.

If that's literally all it takes, I'll put it in, but I don't keep a Safari test installation.

Not sure if it's been asked before and I'd rather not wade through the 600 replies of the thread so I'll just post it: having highlighted tags inside galleries (ie same highlighting you get on Extended mode but when viewing a specific gallery) would be pretty helpful

Requires a redesign of the tagging interface as it currently pulls double duty, but that's planned for some future update.

2. Clicking on the Gallery Categories for the "Popular" tab doesn't do anything at the moment, but they probably should serve the same function as what it does on searches, i.e. redirect to the search for only that category

I'm not a big fan of the changes to the minimal view. Specifically, I have two beefs with it:

1. The preview window used to cover only the date and category when hovering over the gallery link. Now it covers the date, category, new status, torrent status, and favorited status when anywhere in the cell. So now you see even less information, and it's harder to see.

2. The category button image on the left is too large. I can get around changing the category colors, I'll get used to them eventually. But the category column doesn't need to be that fancy. Instead of images just make the cell have that color and text and make the cell itself smaller.

And for further suggestions:

1. A greyed-out torrent indicator doesn't present any more information than a missing indicator, and only adds visual noise; just hide it completely if there is no torrent available for the gallery.

2. The stars in the rating aren't clickable, so they don't need to be very large; making them smaller along with the category cell will make the rows tighter.

Again, all this is with regards to the minimal layout. I have no input about the other layouts since I've never had a use for them.

Gold stars and above can have up to 10 sets of watched/flagged tags with up to 100 tags per set. Everyone else can have one set of up to 100 tags.

I ask for those too broke to support the site financially but have supported it in other ways.

Besides that, nice update. I'm really gonna miss the old glass style gallery category labels tho
