thank you for the change in the button colors to something more pleasant to look at from the initial upate, no more headache from the category buttons. still hoping for a better "New" indicator, the mockup posted a few pages back was pretty good in my opinion. Growing pains happen, especially in communities this big, but that some change requests have already been addressed i am thankful for to the coding folks.

I'm glad there's an option to set your preferred style in your settings because I'm really not a fan of the new default.
Shame the popular galleries are gone from the front page. I liked seeing them.
Also the bold dates for new galleries doesn't work on panda. I'd rather have the "New" tag back to be honest.

The colours of the tags are bearable now,
yet practically all issues with them remain. It is a straight downgrade and flat visual.
White on colour, still distracting.
Blocky and bulky, still ugly.
barely noticeable brightness change in toggling category search.


The added benefit of adjustable width is not worth sacrificing a genuinely splendid design.
On top of the cheap soulless look devaluing the site's image.

It is a shame such an otherwise well needed update is overshadowed by the grisly visuals...

Thanks, i hate all of the visual changes. Especially the new category tags are an eyesore. The 'minimal' and 'compact' modes are neither - minimal takes up more space than the old default view and 'compact' makes the result page pretty much useless on resolutions lower than 1920. I'm also especially fond of how the UI of the favorites page and "my galleries" page are mismatched. We definitely need more blocky check-boxes, the UI still doesn't feel as clunky and bloated as i'd prefer.

From what i can tell right now the only positive changes are the additional search options. Changes to tags are kind of pointless since they have been mess and will continue to be a mess since people consistently fail to follow tag rules.

No, that's completely fucking stupid to have to use a third party workaround instead of the devs just being competent enough to add the option for users who want it.

With the new 'My Tags' system, is there a way to replicate the old 'Tag Namespaces' filter?

For example, I had male: excluded from searches and now that has stopped working. How is that set up with the new system?



Also, at least for my combination of OS and browser (CentOS with KDE and Firefox), there is absolutely no visual difference between new and not new gallery names (they're not visually bolded). That's probably a configuration issue on my end though.

Just noticed you changed the linking behaviour on the results page from 'gallery name' to 'whole row', along with the thumbnail display.

This isn't distracting at all. Great change 10/10.

Finally i can take full advantage of my touch-enabled mobile device when i browse e-hentai on the go. Like a normal person.

No-one wanted this, and I want my Favourite Diamond Tags back. Adding an outline is pointless if all of your favourites are in Favourites 0, the one that's grey.

Why can't people stop fixing things that don't need fixing?

I'm new to all of this. Is there a way to set Compact mode to display every tags?

I have no issue with the visuals, I preferred it before but I'll get used to it.

The big problem for me, is that when you filter out galleries, it doesn't change page count.

Say I search for 5* color doujins in english, I get 2 or 3 galleries per page. Flipping through is a pain in the ass.

I really like the my tags feature. I used to use only the thumbnail mode, but the extended mode is actually pretty cool stuff. I'm a fan of how it displays all of the tags. Then again, the my tags feature can be used to bring the tags you want to attention anyways. I'll have to give it some time to see what I end up sticking with.

The one problem I have is actually something that wasn't even really a feature of the old layout, it's just something a user script did that is now broken: I used to use a script that would fade the thumbnail on galleries that I've already visited (not downloaded, just clicked on) apparently the new layout fades the font? But that is so subtle I honestly can't tell a visited gallery from a new one unless I'm in minimal mode and staring very intently. The visited galleries were also stored somewhere outside of the normal browser history, which was super cool. Even after clearing browser history many times, it still knows which galleries I've visited all the way since I first started using e-hentai.

Anyways, for now I suppose I can manage writing 2 lines of text in a style sheet to change the visited link color, it might even be possible to add the fading covers that way and I just don't know how.
