This isn't much of a issue, but what's up with the round border on thumbnails in thumbnail mode? It kinda looks dull and ugly.

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet in the 20+ pages, but replacing NEW with boldfacing the date was not an obvious change and a new user would likely not understand what the difference between bold and unbolded dates were.
Personally I didn't even notice that there was bold vs unbold so I assumed that the 'New' feature was gone entirely as part of the rework. I recommend maintaining some kind of 'New' text (likely in the date column) to idiotproof and disambiguate the situation.

Problem: It is still ugly as hell. Why it can't be changed back or add a "old look" button. Many of us were complaining, but still no change. You know, many site were died, because they changed something which was disliked by the users and most of them left? Like Digg, which made an unpopular change with V4 version and died as the users went to reddit...

"Yay, I can finally retire!" But seriously, the old design was ugly as hell, people were just used to it. The new design may be more or less ugly as hell relative to it, but people aren't used to it yet. There are some actual deficiencies that aren't fixed yet, but if people really want to revert to the old design, there are always user styles.

I have no issue with the design itself, but the way new entries are handled isn't well done in my opinion.
Admittedly the bolding works well on the main site and is easy to see with that lighter BG colour, but the fjords with the dark colour is next to impossible to tell the difference...at least for me.
Just a thought, maybe adding italicized to the bolding would pop out a little more as the timestamp changes in shape rather than just slightly more thick. Or possibly some other easy to notice character...I believe someone beforehand mentioned an asterisk somewhere in the timestamp.

This is why many were still missing the "NEW" icon? Also, I don't remember anyone were saying they had problem with the old during these years, but now everyone have with this new one. Why the community can't get what they want? And I don't want to donwload a plugin and have problems to implement it. And I think it say something, that I saw some, who's first post in the forum was complaining about this change (like me)... This post has been edited by hph01: Mar 20 2019, 16:26

QUOTE(Tenboro @ Mar 19 2019, 14:48) Mkay, so I've tweaked the thumbnail mode a bit, moving the title back to the top, re-adding the page counter at the expense of the allegedly grossly oversized category button, and some other minor stuff. Let me know if it looks less shit.
This should also fix the meta-clicking to open tabs on macOS.
Much better, thnks.

A classic case of overreaching and thus worsening stuff that didn't need be touched, I'm talking about the tag images here, whose colors now jump obnoxiously to the eye beyond the scope of their purpose. I don't need be screamed at that THIS IS A DOUJIN THIS IS ALSO A DOUJIN YUP DOUJIN HERE LOOK AT THE RED DID I GET YOUR ATTENTION NOW DOUJIN all the time.
And yes, this is after the "fix", still. It can be said that this is just a matter of getting used to it but that is still getting used to something worse than it was before. Before the borders were more round, sleek and far less intrusive to the eye. Also paired with the new system of bolding the dates the overall presentation now completely steals from seeing the actual titles of the works, which should be the number 1° interest in opening the page.
I also wish the green dot to signal the presence of torrent could be moved all the way to the right, so that the title would actually lean more to the left of the page. Right now it's centered to the page veering to the right which just feels unnatural.
This feels like someone coming to buy a portrait and getting that portrait in a huge, bulky, glittering gold and neons frame that doesn't let you focus on what you cared about.

Thanks for adjusting thumbnail view and category colors, looks much better. QUOTE(Mant @ Mar 20 2019, 17:32) THIS IS A DOUJIN THIS IS ALSO A DOUJIN YUP DOUJIN HERE LOOK AT THE RED DID I GET YOUR ATTENTION NOW DOUJIN all the time.
It's funny but thumbnail mode now has smaller category buttons than compact view. Those still have no reason to be that large, except to fill space. This post has been edited by Nayas: Mar 20 2019, 16:38

For me the issue is really not aesthetic, I just miss the old obvious indicators. new ones are very easily missable. I also miss the minimalism. The current smaller layout is bigger than the old one, and yet it displays less informations(no tag flagging). Now, if I were to judge the aethetics, I would say that a big colored border around the date isn't prettier than a favorite diamond. Category icons, in their new color scheme, are fine for me, it will take some time to get used to them but they're good. And the rest... Well, to be honest I don't see much difference(speaking about minimal layout only here, I don't use the other ones, too big), some things were moved around a bit but ultimately there's nothing too drastic. So, if the old design was ugly, I don't see how the new one is better since it's almost the same. That said, I never found the old design ugly, it was simple and efficient. Now, it's still simple, but less efficient. New tag flagging system is way better than the old one though(but it needs to be added in some way to the minimal layout !), watched tags are a very welcome feature as well. Thanks for importing our old tag lists back btw. This post has been edited by kendori: Mar 20 2019, 16:40

[ www.strawpoll.me] Straw Poll: Are you happy with the UI changes? 86% No (101 votes) 14% Yes (17 votes) QUOTE But seriously, the old design was ugly as hell, people were just used to it. I disagree. The old design was fine. The changes you've made were unnecessary and fucked it up. And now you don't give a shit because you know there's no alternative to your motherfucking site. Why should the fucking users have to fix what YOU fucked up? This post has been edited by CriscoGawd: Mar 20 2019, 17:14

It would be nice to be able to have a popup tag definition when you are adding tags under mytags.

At least decrease the size of the damn thumbnails. You can't even hover over the second half of titles in the compact view because the thumbnail only shows half because it's so damn big.

I appreciate the small improvements after the various tips but is it possible to get back the old colors in the "dark mode"? Honestly the green for "western" was much better (maybe use a dark green), same thing for the manga and artic CG categories (they are very similar, yellow was better). Ok the previous colors were too bright, but you can use darker shades without making everything the same.

Forgot to mention, the changes made since I first complained still leave it looking like fucking garbage. Now instead of being blindingly bright the category buttons look like drab dog shit and the minimal mode still doesn't look as compacted as it did before. Did you people actually fucking look at the changes you made before you implemented them?
I've been using this fucking site for ten fucking years with NO fucking problem, then you fuckers had to do this shit.

QUOTE(KamuiSeph @ Mar 20 2019, 06:27) Why would you ever NOT use the fjords (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Because the normal site is better in every way? Like, having all the settings and features instead of only 1/4 of them? (as for gallery accessibility, with *redacted conditions* you see basically the same number of stuff on both sides) There are improvements since yesterday, but we're still not there: - minimal mode still lacks tag flags (you can use the old ones with the small icons with the exclamation point) - favourite icons would be better than a circle around the date - the categories still look bad, at least make them rounded like the old ones... - the gallery info can still be aligned better than that, on one line would be ideal For now, I'll just thank all the people who posted CSS stuff to fix it. "Unfortunately" no one made a full one with all the features I wanted so I played around by mixing a bit of some with a bit of some other. (The extension I'm using is "Styler Classic", easier and less heavy than Stylish, you just go to the domain, click on the icon, and paste the code into the CSS field, then click back on the page and reload it) I have 0 knowledge of CSS and whatever, but I got a "decent" result (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/duck.gif) This is the "code" jam I made: [ pastebin.com] https://pastebin.com/NsuY4pSkPreview: [ i.imgur.com] https://i.imgur.com/w1FswOd.pngUnfortunately I have 0 knowledge so any change I made was by tweaking the numbers and then seeing what happened, so there are some glitches I can't fix like the Misc category having an extra border, and some pages not loading properly (moving all the stuff after the category a little on the right, so the star ratings overlap the uploader name a little).
