Oh wow. I didn't even realize that the date of the new posts were in bold indicating that they were new galleries, until I read it here from a comment a little bit ago. I'd much rather have a 'new' indicator, but I guess I can go with that, though it's even more subtle when I change the window size to 90% to minimize scrolling. The only reason why *that* was necessary is the bigger category buttons... I don't get why the buttons are such a size that affects the entire gallery line (on minimal) rather than a few pixels shorter.

It's gotta be tough to deal with criticism after putting a lot of work into changing the site's appearance, but feedback is feedback. I didn't realize there was anything wrong with it the way it was before...?

Still waiting for the day i can filter to only english results without having to manually put english in the search bar.

I have English set to 98 (and a few artists I want non-English galleries from to 99) weight with a watch threshold of 99, so a gallery needs to be English and at least one other good tag (or the rare tag I set to 99) to appear on my watched page, with very rare exceptions.

While some better adjustments have been made, Thumbnail mode pictures are just still too big for showing thumbnail previews. Before, you could have three rows of gallery thumbnails fit a desktop screen. Great for quick scan on some galleries with low amount of scrolling to get bottom and continue to next page of whatever you are searching for. As of now, at 100% default zoom, two rows of gallery thumbnails is the most that can be fully seen before scrolling, which is just a straight downgrade from the previous thumbnail mode. Additionally, I think having the category/rating/pages/favorite category at the bottom of each thumbnail space, was way more uniform, instead of having to look up and down if one gallery's thumbnail picture had more space under the picture, than the gallery next to it.

This is basically my entire view in a nutshell. I've been thumbnail view only for years now, and loved how uniform and easy-to-scan at a glance everything was; if I'm looking for something, I go to a page, quick glance over everything in like 3 eye passes, and move on to the next page if it's not there.
Now, though? The eye has no path to follow and keeps getting caught on superfluous junk. The placement of UI features are all over the place (the way the categories bounce up and down is honestly kind of nauseating); the categories themselves are about 7x bigger, give no more useful info than before, and dot the page with so much solid, vibrant, completely clashing color it looks like the first few rows of my "colorful, varied!" first attempts at spreadsheet colorschemes back in my early teens, and it's just kinda generally...really, really garish.

Like, the old site was one where I honestly never even CONSIDERED the UI design, even from the start - everything just felt so NATURAL, besides the odd thing like non-default multi-page viewer unlock, and I started browsing on a fucking ancient blackberry I nicked nightly from my dad, then an OG 3DS; some super god damn tiny mobile screens. I probably spend a solid hour thirty on this site a day, and have for the last ~7 years - but I'm just NOT feeling it at all anymore. This isn't just a "they changed it, and that makes it uncomfortable" thing; it just feels overall less-functional, less non-intrusively designed, and, honestly? Just overall worse.

Categories are too bright for "ex", giant amount of wasted space and overall downgrade in readability: Thumbnail mode.

So haven't really done much exploring on the new changes as much as others probably have since I usually just skim the galleries for new uploads I might like but there's only a few things that I don't like so far. Like I've seen others mention, the size of the categories seems unnecessarily large and that the bold for new uploads doesn't really stand out much and I've gone back multiple pages that I've already skimmed without realizing it. I'd prefer the gallery to have a *new* indicator or something that'll make it stand out a little more.

Suggestion
Make the thumbnail cards have the space-between instead of all at the start of the card, and make the whole card clickable.

Yeah. The category "button" is way too bulky and colorful. By design, it draws way too much from the thumbnails and/or titles.

Can we have some minimalism, please?

I suggest a more subdued color palette for the categories and to make them smaller.

At the very least, the make the colors solid instead of this "shadow" effect. Just add black outlines to the text. It really is too distracting

There needs to be an option to disable the alternating colors in thumbnail view it makes it really hard to browse. The new indicator for favorites is also too easy to miss.

What did you search for, exactly?

A specific artist.
So my tags have:

I don't understand at all why change the colors and make them bright why remove the favorites diamond mark why remove the NEW symbol? been using for years and never had a single problem with it seems unecessary.

The bolding is a bit hard to see as opposed to the NEW tag. Also I kind of liked the favourite/tagflag diamonds and the old category buttons but I guess I'll see how fast I can get used to this.

I'm not sure if this is related to the update or not, but yesterday things were working one way, and now they're working another way, so I figured I'd bring it up here.

I've always respected that futanari and shemale were considered separate categories under the e-hentai tagging system—personally I like both, but it makes searching for whichever I'm particularly in the mood for much easier. And yet now it seems that searching for either brings up any gallery tagged with "dickgirl." And since, under the system of pairing tagging where "dickgirl" denotes both futanari and shemale, "dickgirl" seems to be applied to virtually every futanari AND shemale gallery, the situation currently seems to be that searching for either separately now brings up nearly all results for both, which seems to completely defeat the purpose of having separate tags in the first place.

Should I just keep bumping this till I stop seeing results without the "shemale" tag in searches for shemale and results without the "futanari" tag in searches for futanari?

Hey wanted to give my input as well. I do think we can achieve the new UI to be pretty good, however there needs to be a few changed for sure.
I only use Thumbnail view, so I can only comment on that.
The Categories definitely need to be aligned so that they have a set position, everything else feels kind of nauseating to me.

Also, is it normal that when I filter for, let's say 5 stars only, entries that are not 5 stars are simply getting removed, but still count towards the total pages? Due to this, I partially have pages with literally just 3-4 galleries, I do hope this will get changed, this is a nightmare to me-

On top of that I wanted to ask in what order the tags are being listed on the Thumbnail view. It seems to be random to me, am I missing something or is that it? I do think being able to sort them, so that you don't have a salad of good and bad tags, would be a great idea.

Besides that and the colorful categories, I do like the idea of change, I just hope things get a bit more smooth in that regard, though thanks for the great work Tenboro

Also please do not make bump posts. This thread is lengthy enough without them.

The problem is that:
- "hidden" hides everything with those tags, so 1 page of that and the whole gallery gets nuked so I can't see the tags in the details to judge if I want to open it.
- "nasty negative score" does the same, with the risk that I get one of those galleries with A LOT of tags I like together with the nasty tag and the gallery remains completely visible, and even if I see the black marker on the tag, hovering on it will show me what I could not want to see.

Hiding thumbnails avoids you hovering on messed up stuff, because well, you won't see them.
And to check the tags of said gallery while browsing a page with unfiltered results.
And then judge if taking the risk or not, for some tags.

Seconding this, being able to hide only thumbnails but not the entire gallery (so you can still be aware of their existence more clearly than a "hey dude there are a bunch of hidden galleries here") for certain tags would be great. Would be helpful in the extended view too. Maybe there could be something that reveals the thumbnail on mouseover for such cases but I don't know if by this point I'm asking for too much.

don't like the fact having the mouse over the line brings up thumbnail, like the old style were you had have the mouse over the text to bring up thumbnail.

Another issue? with tags...
I have these tags set:

female:nakadashi watched 3
female:monster girl watched 2
female:bondage -1

(bondage is neither hidden nor watched)

Tag Watching Threshold 5

I would assume if a gallery has all 3 tags (3+2-1=4) it would not show up in the watched list?

But it does. There's a bunch of galleries (with other tags as well) that when adding bondage only reach the total tag number of 4, but still show up in watched.
