I don't get this. This all looks... huge. Like, ridiculously huge. "Thumbnail" viewing is freaking huge, and doesn't look like thumbnails at all. Extended is just, why? Compact doesn't feel compact, and minimal is... well, I guess minimal is the same, but these colors feel a little too bright and on the nose.
I just don't get it. I don't get why this change was made. Was it just to update how the websites look? To change how they're presented? I'm genuinely, honestly hoping that there will be a style or a script out there to undo this change (visually), as unlikely as that is. It's just... fuck, thumbnails are way too big and I have to zoom the page out to about 75% to make it look even remotely sensible like it was BEFORE. Which then proceeds to make actual doujin pages look all disgustingly underscaled and for ants.
Why isn't there an option to change the visual appearance of the websites (e, ex) back to what it was before, a "legacy looks" option of sorts? Why do I feel as though this is some kind of update that's just meant to be something that's "mobile friendly" or what ever? I probably don't have any posts on the forums, and I rarely comment on doujin upload pages for the most part. But I just don't GET why something like this had to be changed, among the OTHER changes (like tagging and so on) that were included. Everything worked perfectly fine before, everything LOOKED fine. It's not a single change (aesthetically, visually or stylistically) or even a simple one, this is a really big overhaul and I'm not the only one complaining or pointing out some of these "features" or "displays" here.
The word of someone who doesn't post, doesn't have any reputation and probably won't even have their comments read over is something I know is negligible, if not outright easily ignored... but this is honestly appalling to me.

QUOTE Hard filtering is enabled by toggling the "hidden" checkbox. Galleries with these tags are filtered regardless of the presense of other tags. I have yaoi set as hidden (and -99 just for good measure), but if I search for an artist that does both yaoi and normal work, yaoi still shows up in the results. Is this a mistake, or intended? Old tag flagging would just have the gallery show up without a cover in this scenario. Now I can see the cover and I see no indication that it's on my bad flags list. Only way to confirm is to actually go into the gallery and see the tags

Please bring back the "new" icon. The new bright colors look bad btw.

What did you search for, exactly?

Can we have the old favorites icon back? The 1 pixel thick line box around the date is pretty hard to see. Also it doesn't make sense, why put a box around the upload date?
Also when searching your favorites I have to now click boxes (Name, Tags and Note) to search stuff. Can you at least make it so that they are all checked by default? Previously I can type something in the search bar and press enter, now I have to type, click and search. The extra step is pretty annoying.

I'm more or less alright with the changes, since obviously stuff does need to be updated and functionality increased (I'll be sticking with "Minimal" for a long time to come), but my one complaint is with regards to the category buttons (Manga, Doujinshi, etc.). I think they're far too bright, it's difficult to read at a glance the white text on them, and they don't really match the background colour of either site. I prefer the more subdued colouring of the previous version.
Anyway, overall you've done a very good job and I thank you for it, but I do think that changes in appearance ought to be more widely publicised in advance.

Ok I understand this is a huge impact with all these sudden changes. I like all the improvements but at the same time I always used the thumbnail mode and now it looks just HUGE. I know I can zoom out with my browser but that doesnt help at all as it resizes the font too.
I think Im not the only one asking for smaller thumbnails. Right now it takes a lot of scrolling to reach the bottom even at 1080p. It also gives a messy design to the whole site with titles and text at different places.
If you want to keep all this configuration, at least give an option to change the thumbnails to their original size, even if they are cutted down to adapt the same size for each gallery.

QUOTE(Tenboro @ Mar 19 2019, 14:21) There are some new limitations to searching in favorites for performance reasons, but some of these are temporary and awaiting some backend/database changes.
Aah good, came here looking for info on searching in favorites. Could you possibly post some info on these limitations? I'd like to know which are temporary and which are permanent, at least.

QUOTE(Lexander @ Mar 19 2019, 14:18) The date and the rating and DL button seem to be rather weirdly grouped. Maybe have the date just over rating? Maybe move the DL button next to the page count?
I agree the arrangement seems a bit weird. How about this? (IMG:[ i.postimg.cc] https://i.postimg.cc/dVnCgHr2/reorder.png) Also, for those who want to retrieve their old tag flags in order to add them to the new system, there's a chance you can get them from the form history in your browser if you edited them recently enough. It worked for me with Firefox: 1) Go to your profile directory and open formhistory.sqlite with a sqlite frontend such as SQLiteSpy. 2) On the moz_formhistory table, order by fieldname. The fields you want are called tfb1, tfb2 and so on.

It's now impossible to select text on clickable titles (e.g. titles, uploaders, dates) with mouse. Using Opera browser. It used to be always possible.
Found what's causing this: user-select: none
I know I can override it but please never use this thing on text. Please.

Is there any way to recover my previous list of tags? Even if it's simply to look what I had.
There were numerous artists I had tags for that I would never ever be able to remember the names of without.

Nice update.
i have one question. Does tagsets have an impact on the filtering process or is it just for housekeeping?

Thanks a lot with that hard filter option, needed that for a long time.
But tried that, sometimes that works, sometimes that didn't, don't know why.

Digging the new extended and updated thumbnail views
As others have pointed out. The light colored text on light colored background for icons is hard to read. Suggest making it a tad darker.

This is going to be my first post here since I wanted to find out about the new layout. To me, it feels a bit uncomfortable to get used to.
I like the 'new' icon from the old layout since I can tell what works have been posted recently. I also loved the popular section being listed below the front page. It feels more convenient to me.
I'd love to have the option to have the old layout or at least have the option to add it into the newer layout.

Some galleries have a complete lack of tags on the search page (which in turn gets ignored by the new flagging) (IMG:[ i.imgur.com] https://i.imgur.com/W3dKGoc.png) Also, after using the new layout for a little, i really miss the old "Favorited" symbol. The border on the date is cool and compact, but it's a little hard to see.

Well, unfortunately the new design is a big "miss" for me. New content is way harder to spot now, bolded text can't compare at all against a dedicated icon. Same for the favorite indicator. New category icons, outside of lacking "personality" as some people said, are missing something critical: contrast. The new tag flagging system is useless on minimal layout. It is however nice to be able to directly see which tags are triggered on the compact layout. Overrall the design lost a lot of readability. Fortunately, most of my issues can be fixed with userscripts and custom styling, although I'll probably wait until things settle a bit before working on it.
Also, since the compact design fetch tags, why not fetching them all ? Is it really so expensive ? This could give more power to userscripts.

It probably was mentioned before. But I can't access my uploads. All I got is white with the word "err"
Did that changed as well somehow?

Ah, a page count function. I do love that feature.
Miss those glassy buttons.
Still can't search with only exclusions, huh?
