Huh.. Uh.. Wow. Now the site looks like something from the early 00's (and definitely not in a good sense). It's like there's vomit on my monitor.

+1 to bring old buttons back, however even if they're not brought back, please reduce their size so their height is the same as the title and other information. The category button shouldn't be the one setting how high the row is IMO. Additionally, after I came on today I was first forced into "compact", and admittedly it would probably be very nice if not for a couple things:

1. Reduce the size of the category buttons here again, I mean they're already too big in minimal but here they're ridiculous.
2. Reduce the font size on the title, minimal ironically has more space to fit more of the title than compact does, and I'd prefer to have minimal and not compact if I can see more of the title that way.
3. Additionally on compact, maybe expand the row height for the entire title to fit. If it's not supposed to be minimal, then we might as well get the entire title there.
4. Button colors, or just bring back the old ones. They're really taking too much attention when they're arguably the least important part of the row.

I'm not a fan of redesigning what works, but I guess I can adapt if this is done. Hell, the only real change that's noticeable are the buttons, which I'd imagine are changed so images don't need to load from a server somewhere? If the buttons are re-sized back to what they were, the rows will look pretty much identical to what they were on minimal.

Mkay, so I've tweaked the thumbnail mode a bit, moving the title back to the top, re-adding the page counter at the expense of the allegedly grossly oversized category button, and some other minor stuff. Let me know if it looks less shit.

This should also fix the meta-clicking to open tabs on macOS.

As a side note, the Excluded Languages filters no longer works, unless I'm missing something

I noticed the new forum design, there's some features that are lost from the old "compact" mode:
1. no more "new" icon, I can't back track the last which doujin/gallery i read/browse through. This is the sole reason i'm still using the old "compact" mode.
2. No more favorite icons, now i have to click into the gallery to know whether i added this gallery as favorite.
3. tags flagging is gone, now I can't avoid some of the disturbing galleries with those flagged tags.

It would be great if these tiny features can be shown on most modes.

Pretty sure it's working, try to toggle the "disable filter" box and see that you are getting more results. However, the tag display caching and the index search caching have different TTLs so you will sometimes get results that show a recently tagged hidden language.

Also, like for text color changes seen above, it would be good if for tag flagging, using light green and yellow (and possibly other colors) caused the text color to be black instead of white (don't know if it's a default to override or a missed case as other colors do turn text to black)

Not going to lie. I'm not very impressed with this update.

Other than the issue of minimal not being the default, these new button designs are flat and unappealing compared to the textured gradients that were present.

Something VERY similar happened in Hentaiverse with flattening/dulling of interface elements. It's trivial from a functional perspective, but it does not do any favors to the overall presentation of the site.

The category and torrent links should line up on the bottom here shouldn't they? I made a picture showing what I mean

Also the checkerboarding colors aren't easy on the eyes, can you make it all one color like how it used to be? And I also very much agree that the thumbnails are too large, they're massive and I'm too blind to mess with the magnification

When searching favorites by tags you must now enter full tag name and it doesn't even support wildcards. Pretty inconvenient for searching long character/series names.

Thanks for the update to thumbnails, looks good.

I think I do like the old new and favorites icons on galleries as standing out and being easier to see than the new effects on the date. Particularly the purple for favorites 8 is very hard to notice against the dark background.

In compact and extended I randomly see galleries displayed with no tags, that should have a bunch.
But after a while, some of them start displaying normally, are those still being cached?

Props for adding color picker for tags.
"My tags" page desperately needs select/save all button.
I could certainly go without giant colored category buttons, seems like waste of space and distracting in thumbnail view, otherwise it looks good. Category colors clash with dark mode much more than default one, it wasn't as obvious with small icons.

Ahh, I get the results from originally Chinese galleries that are erroneously tagged as "translated" (which I don't filter), sorry about that.

Yes, yes it does look less "shit". That being said. In the old thumbnail mode, if I hovered over a title that didn't fit I would get the full title in a tooltip. That no longer happens and it would be really useful if it was to be reintroduced. God only knows the lengths some of these titles get to.

Also, could you maybe tweak the category colors... just a bit. The smaller category buttons help, but the colors are still a bit too strident.

Beyond that, the date and the rating and DL button seem to be rather weirdly grouped. Maybe have the date just over rating? Maybe move the DL button next to the page count? Hell, you could do that on both Thumbnail view and Extended... or maybe move the DL on the same lever as the rating in the Extended mode.


...and now, to quote Uncle from Jackie Chan adventure: And one more thing, could we possibly get square thumbnails, it's absurd to have all these blocky, square angle shapes all over the site, but the thumbnails have actually rounded ages and are actual crops of the thumbnails of the first page of each gallery.

There are some new limitations to searching in favorites for performance reasons, but some of these are temporary and awaiting some backend/database changes.
