Coming back to HV after a long, several year break and I see alot of things I like. Love this new Persona system so I can have multiple fighting styles setup to go at any given moment. But my question is how viable are the following builds for endgame (not endgame the arena challenge, but endgame as in higher play):

A sort of assassination style rogue using "of the shadowdancer" shade leather and daggers for high parry? (still holding onto some Fine daggers from the good ol' days)

An extremely tanky build with "shielding" plate that I've held onto, and focusing mostly on counterattacking with high block & mitig?

Or are none of these sorts of builds viable anymore and melee leather/plate focus mostly on 2H offensive sweep builds nowadays? I honestly have no idea, I've gotten this far almost purely as a wind sorceress.

Yes I have one for Spark of Life.

Then yes, that's a valid question. The old CracklingCast script (back in 0.84) was able to do what you're talking about, but I believe it was ruled illegal by the powers-that-be and ultimately not included in Monsterbation.

At your level, leather and 2H is still kinda viable, but once you hit "endgame" (ie, doing full PFUDORfests), there's really just two options in the current meta:
1) rapier + force shield + power armor of slaughter
2) mage

Mage is A LOT more expensive and a glass cannon build, so unless you have top-tier gear, you'll be using tons of potions and scrolls to manage your vitals and constantly having to be mindful of Spark of Life. On the other hand, a well-built mage is about twice as fast as a well-built melee character.

1H heavy melee is insanely durable and can very easily handle PFUDORfests, but its main drawback is that it's slower in grindfests and absolutely outclassed in arenas (speed-wise).

leather + 1h is still viable at high end, it's slower than power armor of slaughter though, just due to the AP difference.

I have soulfused Exquisite equipment, I still used it sometimes.

That could have seriously fetched more than 100kC. The one who bazaared it got careless.
You can be sure to use it till at least lvl280-300.
DO NOT soulfuse it! You won't be able to sell it back after! You should rather upgrade it, then pray to find something similar/better around your level as soon as you can, as you're overlevelling your weapon quite a lot.

Since it comes from bazaar, he cannot resell it even now. Check that big red untradeable thing on the top right.

Ok then I don't appear to be gaining proficiency as I have done a Re and first 5 arenas and it's still at .27. I did start assimilator training before doing the arenas though(if that inteferes somehow) and had only checked proficiency after the RE.

update: not a bonus but a glitch. you won't get proficiency until you gained more than you got for free. Bummer.

btw, does this mean that all prof gains are tracked natively? i only saw staff one...



also, needing datas about Assimilator training level costs

It the cap is really level X 1.2 nearly.
The balance of the game is shifting even more towards mages.
Now high-level imperil mages will probably always one-shot with a T3 and holy/dark non-imperil will get a pretty big damage boost (15.3% damage boost from T3 + 5 base prof + damage from staff prof, cast speed from cloth prof etc etc).
